New Balance Women's 928 V3 Lace-Up Walking Shoe

At the tryout stage, this sneaker seems good. I loosened the laces hugely at the tongue and moved the slack up into the toebox eyelets. Now the toebox feels roomy (with socks that are a few years old, no longer super-thick). There's a LOT of slide in the ankle, which may be because of the loosened laces.I am hoping to use these for work, on my feet in a retail warehouse, on concrete floors almost all the time. Ive observed that a cushioned shoe is not always the best; sometimes a more rigid, supportive base can be better for 6-8 hr workday, even just 4 hrs, depending on the amount or lack of walking. The insert is more rigid, so I'll see if it helps. A gel insert can always be swapped out. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why someone was complaining about the tongue.The "gray" version isn't really gray; it's more a "geriatric taupe," accentuated by the fact that these have true leather uppers. But I tend to wear tans and earth-tones, so I ordered this color, already aware these had no fashion factor. I knew I would have to spend $ to get enough support, so I appreciate the monthly payment option.In my 40s, I sized down from 7 to 6.5, but in my 60s, I find that I really need the full 7. (My mom said her feet got longer too.) Even if I got new socks, I think there would still be enough room here. I always get wide shoes/sneakers and have stuck with New Balance for about 25 years.Apparently, no one gives a crap about proper shipping anymore. The shoebox was simply thrown in a plastic Amazon bag (no shipping box), and looked as if it had exploded from the abuse of shipping. The shoes were fine (hard to damage sneakers). Aside from superficial issues (appearance and shipping carelessness), I recommend these so far. Will update after I put some mileage on them.

I'm an avid walker and have been a fan of the NB 928 since it came out on the market. Have had all the updated versions of it, and on my 3rd pair of the V3's. This is by far the best shoe for walking. It is the most comfortable, has excellent support and is THE best quality shoe out there! I walk 3 miles every day on my treadmill, and have for decades. Pretty pricey, but lasts a very long time. I highly recommend this shoe!

This is the fourth pair of 928 NB I have flat feet and they are so comfortable. They have good arch support

About 10 years ago, I purchased this same NB shoe model. From the moment I put my foot in it, it was the most comfortable shoe I had ever torn. Fast forward to now. I needed to replace them because they had gotten old and worn out. I went on Amazon and I was able to find the same model, but it said that it was a newer version of the older model. When I received them, I tried them on, and they were NOT nearly as comfortable. They didn’t have nearly as much cushion as the previous pair I had purchased. I was disappointed, but I kept the shoes because I needed shoes that I could wear for three days in Disneyland! During that three days, I ended up with sore red areas where the shoe was rubbing on the top of my foot. On my last day there I ended up wearing my cheap rubbery slides I purchased from a ‘big box’ store. Those were actually more comfortable than my new, NB shoes! I will hang onto these, as I do need a good shoe that supports my foot, however, I won’t be wearing these if I have to do a lot of walking. I’m still searching for a good walking shoe.

Great shoe for orthotics. I love to go walking again.

Review from wife:Durability: The outside is leather and holds up in Michigan winters. The inside seems to wear down in about a year. I have ordered a new pair yearly since 2016.Weight: I don't think they are notably heavy or light.Appearance: I started wearing these shoes in my mid 30s. Since they are black they go with everything. I wear bell bottoms a lot and they fit nicely under the bell. Some people may think they are wide but they are great for me.Pain Relief: I have pain in my calfs and hips when I do not wear these. The rollbar feature and support is great for my supination.

I love that they are durable, comfortable, and provide the support I need as a woman with a connective tissue disorder.

UPDATE: I have since come to realize that the seller is Zappos. I don't know who decides what hat return method we have to use. But i will be contacting them for a refund.Unfortunately the shoes were too narrow even though I ordered X-wide. Tried to return them, and Amazon only gave one option - to return them to a UPS Store. I usually have more than 1 option - kohls, staples, etc.The UPS store closest to me is an hour away. Amazon refused to give me full refund. Tried calling New Balance, and because they couldn't access Amazon's order system, they also couldn't take them back. So I am stuck with 155.00 loss . I will never buy New Balance Shoes on Amazon ever again.Amazon needs to warn people up front what the return methods are for all items (not just that they are returnable) so we will know if we should order any item or not. I will be filing a complain with the better business bureau. When I looked up BBB to log a complaint against Amazon and New Balance, there were many complaints against New Balance and deliveries...I don't recommend anyone ordering from them.
