DREY - 2006 Range Rover HSE worked PERFECTLY for a KEY SWAP!
So FIRST OFF - you need the little sensor from your old key its a little free floating piece of plastic covered tech in the lower part of your existing key. THATS A SENSOR! KEEP THAT DONT LOSE IT OR YOUR CAR WONT RECOGNIZE THE NEW KEY!Take your new and old key to a locksmith, not the dealer cause the dealer tried to charge me 200$ to cut a key, the russian locksmith glossed it over, nodded, and did mine for like $20. Clean your key btw, might be dust and old grime in the keygutter. Get it cut, take it home grab a small screw driver and swap the button chip and little mini sensor. you may need to leave out one of the extra plastic shields cause its too snug inside.Test your key before you throw away the old one!Mine needed a few inserts to sand itself a tad it was very rigid at first being freshly cut, it smooths out eventually.been working for me for months now

Not a 5 min fix, but well worth the work to save the cost of a dealer replacement.
This was a fit for my 2003 Range Rover HSE key that's buttons were completely worn out.A few things worth mentioning.*The battery holder and the attached electronic part from your original key goes into this new shell. Also there is a tiny proximity sensor the size of a grain of rice that must be in there for the key to work. DO NOT lose or forget this little thing as it is at least as difficult to replace as a human organ and twice as expensive.*This is a key blank. In addition to transferring the electronic components from your old key you will need to have the metal key part cut to fit your vehicle. That part is not interchangeable, it is part of the black plastic that doesn't come off the way some do.Ok, so I may have changed the key part as well in mine, but it took a dremmel, epoxy, and nerves if steel to do it. Good luck.

Not actually usable as a replacement
I got this to replace my worn out key fob (obviously). Knowing that I was going to have to take my Range Rover in for some repair work soon, I got this ahead of time with the plan of having the mechanic swap it out so I didn't screw anything up. Well, I just picked my vehicle up, and the mechanic handed the still pristine "replacement" back to me, explaining that every bit of it is glued together and thus incapable of being disassembled and used as a replacement. Not only that, he said that even if it could be disassembled, it would have been a terrible idea to use this one because of how rigid and unusable the buttons are. Now that I see how worthless this purchase was, I tried to start the return process, only to find out that I'm apparently two and half weeks past the return date. This thing is not only absolute garbage, it must surely qualify as a scam given that it can't actually be used for what it is advertised for. How this is still allowed to be sold to steal money from future Amazon customers is beyond me. I guess now I get to try to figure out if there's a way to report listings.DO NOT BUY THIS.

This key is a blank with no guts. You can't swap covers
The key guts were empty. On the Range Rover you need the computer chip in the key. There's no way to change the key over without that part very dissatisfied.Bill

Worked good after modifying
Had the key cut at my local locksmith . You must move the “chip” from the old key to the new key. It’s a small pellet in the corner inside old key. The new key had to be modified just a little the button bosses were just a little long and the buttons were being pushed all at once causing the remote not to work.

Not easy to interchange
Was going to use it for the internal parts

Should work fine as.a simple key but electronics fit is questionable
Key looks like the original but there are slight differences that make it hard to get it working. Button bosses are different, like pegs not flattened like the original, rubber buttons are stiffer, rubber inlay inside key is thinner. I tried to modify this to work with the circuit board but was never able to get it to work reliably. The board just does not quite fit. I will use mine as an emergency key to get in the car if I need to.

To thick.
This is much thicker than the actual key. Would not recommend.
