Nice ear pads and an improvement from the original manufacture ones
My Audio Technics M50x ear pads has seen better days so I decided to try these replacement pads. All I can say is: WOW! First of all, the package is just simple zip lock bag with pads in it and some cards. One of the cards said, watch this video before attempting to install the ear pads. So I did. I followed the instructions of removing and installing these pads. The process took about 5 minutes total. Just follow what the video says. The foam feels really nice and I don't seem to feel that sweat build happening on these. And the sound is way better on these pads than the original pads. It makes the M50x sound better. The audio isolation is good (if you have music playing.) It looks clean and since it is PU leather, it should not fall apart like the OEM ones that come with the headphones. All I can say is WOW. It is nice, comfortable, and makes the M50x sound better. And the price is right for the application. What more can you ask for? I highly recommend these replacement ear pads for the Audio Technics AT-M50x. I would definitely buy them again, and will look for this brand for replacing other headphone ear pads. Hope this helps.

Oh yeah, these are the pads!
So I have a pair of ATH M50โs the original coiled cable set. Iโve had these cans for about 10 years and they are the best headphones Iโve ever owned. Over time the headband started flaking off which iโm sure everyone whoโs had these a while knows what iโm talking about, then the ear pads started getting a bit hard and weathered. At this point I needed to get new pads so I found these here for a very reasonable price. I was a bit skeptical about getting different size pads just because I didnโt want the sound quality of these headphones being lost. So I took a chance and I have to say coming from somebody who is very strict when it comes to sound quality I was actually impressed on how good and almost exact the headphones sounded after these pads were installed. The installation process was very easy just be patient and donโt force the band around or pull it. Theyโll go on just fine. They feel super comfortable and almost gave me a fresh breath of air knowing I can slap another 10 years on these comfortably lol. Now here is where I get to the one specific part that I noticed immediately after playing my โTestโ track lol. The construction quality is really top notch BUT as youโll see upon opening them, there is a very soft padded mesh material inside separating the speaker from your ear. Ok great thatโs how all pads should be, pretty self explanatory, no harm done very nicely stitched. THATโS the slight issue with these pads in combination with the ATH-M50โs. As soon as I played a song, I noticed immediately the highs were a bit muffled. Basically picture the highs and a bit of the mids being blocked by that โMesh Wallโ. So what I did to experiment was I took the pads off and folded the band inside out exposing the mesh stitching around the leather. I basically cut next to the stitching on the mesh side all around leaving the speaker exposed. Tossed the mesh, folded the band back to normal, installed the pads back on the headphones and tried again. Ok for those who love the sound of their ATH-M50โs and any other headphones with this pad combination, THIS is the way to go. As soon as I started playing music again, all I can say was WOW .. The highs and mids were all back the way they sounded before. The signature sound of the headphones were not compromised and actually to top it all off, the upgraded pads with the mesh cut out gave a bit of a bass boost without losing ANY other levels!. Long story short, if you want to keep the sound you grew to love with these headphones, do this slight modification. Trust me if youโre a bit like me (OCD) lol, you wonโt regret this. Overall the pads are amazing, feel super comfortable, people with big ears like myself will LOVE these lol. Iโm very happy I gave this brand a chance.

Worth The Effort To Install
This is my second pair of Wicked Cushions Ear Pads, my first pair being for Sony MDR-V6 cans (which I also reviewed). This pair was a little tougher to install, but with patience and the video instructions, well worth the effort. I bought these for a pair of ATH-M40ฦs monitors and they are a perfect fit. Being slightly "thicker" ("taller" if you think of them laying flat), they hold the earphone can a tiny bit farther from your head, which increases the comfort in my opinion, because you have a little bit more room inside for your ear. Combined with the very soft leather covers and a nicely compliant foam I experienced no fatigue after three hours of listening yesterday. As a critical listener, using a tube headphone amp, I have always reveled in the sound of these headphones and had some concern that changing the pads would change the sound. These M40ฦs phones, which sometimes sounded a bit clinical with transistor amps, have a very pleasing accuracy with my tube amp. Music with significant high frequency energy which can sound "glassy" in these phones when using a transistor amp, retains all of the glorious sizzle and squeak when played through a good tube headphone amp design. Changing the ear pads to these Wicked Cushions pads had absolutely no negative effect on that sound. Since direct A-B comparison is impossible, I can only say that I think I notice a little bit smoother lower bass, especially when the jazz bass is the featured instrument, as in Christy Baron's "Ain't No Sunshine". There's not less or more bass, just what sounds like a smoother frequency response curve. Combining the excellent customer service I received when I had a pre-purchase question, and the super quality look and feel of these ear pads, I am extremely happy with them all around. My favorite headphones are better than new! No more little black specs on my face after listening. YAY!

Great comfort upgrade, but could be a bit thicker
I bought the WC Wicked Cushions PadZ for my SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless, and they fit perfectly and very easily. No struggle at all getting them on. The material feels soft and comfortable, and overall theyโre a nice upgrade from the stock pads. The only downside is that the pads are a bit thinner than I expected, so every now and then my ears touch the inside of the headphones. Itโs not a deal-breaker, just something to be aware of. Aside from that, theyโre well-made, comfortable, and definitely a worthwhile improvement.

These cushions have given me a whole new listening and gaming experience with AudioTechnica ATH-M50x headphones.
I normally hate when people write reviews for products right after they receive them, but I'm so blown away by these ear cushions that I couldn't wait. I also realized right after I finished writing this that a lot of what I said is very similar to the product description, so Iโd like to go ahead and say that this is not a paid review, nor was I given anything to review these ear cushions. Iโm just a low-level audiophile home from school for the summer with nothing else to do. I've been using AudioTechnica ATH-M50X circumaural headphones for over 4 years now for gaming, listening to music, music production, and watching YouTube/Netflix. I would estimate that I've spent at least 2,500 hours wearing these headphones with the original ear cushions. Needless to say, the old cushions are totally worn down. The foam has almost completely compressed, the outer materials has been breaking off in tiny flakes for about 8 months (you can even see them on the desk in the accompanying pictures), and the inner layer in the lining between my ears and the sound drivers (the speakers) has a hole in each cushion. Replacement cushions were drastically needed; these cushions are absolutely perfect. I'll go ahead and get my only complaint out of the way: there was a delay in the shipment of my ear cushions that set the delivery back a few days. However, I got them in the mail the day after being notified of their shipment, so in total it took 9 days to get them after completing my purchase. Wicked Cushions seems to be a relatively small company so a slight shipment delay is totally understandable. This in no way detracts from the product itself, so the cushions keep the 5-star rating. Now on to the good stuff: 1. These cushions are MASSIVE, both in the thickness of the foam and in the diameter of the ear holes. I have pretty big ears and this is the first time I've ever had my ears totally encapsulated by headphones. That means no more discomfort from my ears being pushed awkwardly against my head, something I noticed a lot when wearing my headphones for a few hours at a time (even before the stock cushions wore down). I primarily wear contacts but they feel fine with my glasses on too. There's very little pressure actually noticeable with glasses on. I assume this is because these cushions actually fit over my ears and don't push on the tops like other headphones have. Itโs wonderful to finally get the real circumaural headphone experience. 2. Like I said before, these cushions are huge. The foam in these cushions is about an inch thick. Itโs soft and comfortably compresses without the sound drivers touching my ears at all (one of the biggest reasons my headphones were so uncomfortable before the upgrade). I thought I might feel a bit of squeezing due to how large the cushions are before I first put them on, but thatโs barely the case. I almost canโt feel the headphones at all other than an extremely slight amount of squeezing around my ears. Itโs more that they fit snugly right now than anything else, and I have no doubt that itโll go away over time as the foam breaks in. 3. The sound quality of my headphones has drastically improved. Iโve listened to music with these on for about two hours and Iโm honestly amazed by how much the quality has increased. Iโve listened to Cage the Elephant, Mac Demarco, Run the Jewels, Kanye West, Led Zeppelin, Mastodon, and Tool to see how different genres sound. The depth of sound has improved greatly, so much so that I donโt even know how to explain it. It isnโt that music sounded flat before, itโs more that it now sounds almost like surround sound instead of stereo. The increase in depth is crazy. All of the mids and highs sound so much clearer than before and the new depth allows the bass to really fill the space around and in my ears like it hadnโt before. I didnโt realize that it was possible for cushions to have such an huge impact on the range of sound headphones can produce, so this is all an extremely pleasant surprise. I also saw this translate to gameplay as well. In games like Rainbow 6 Siege where sound is so important, the improved clarity and quality is very helpful. 4. Installation was very easy. The cushions even come with a little diagram of how to install them. All you really have to do is pull the old ones off and put the edge of the new ones on. These cushions stretch quite a bit so you shouldnโt have to worry about ripping them during installation. 5. This is one of the most generic pros you can see in a review, but these cushions seem to be very high quality. The leather is soft but feels durable, the memory foam maintains its shape very well and decompresses very quickly. Iโll have to come back and update this review in a few months to talk about how the memory foam holds up, but the fact that it has memory foam at all should be an indicator of the quality and comfort these cushions provide. There is the possibility of these cushions retaining a lot of heat when worn for a long time or when gaming, but I canโt say for sure yet. The materials insulate sound very well and I assume they also insulate heat well too. However, I havenโt noticed any issues and Iโve had them on my head for about 4 hours now.

Looking for ATH M50X ear pads? Stop looking and buy these!
My dad works in radio and used to be a mobile DJ, we're both huge audiophiles and my first job(s) were as a board op in radio and prior to being old enough I assisted him with the mobile DJ thing. That said, I judge very harshly when it comes to music related things. These earpads blow away the stock pads in comfort, application (or re-application), sound quality, AND bass. I don't know how they make the bass more punchy (still clean), but they do. I did a back-to-back comparison of these, the stock, and the Brainwavz (garbage earpads btw...) I had bought last year. These were of all 3 the easiest to put on. The noise cancellation is on par if not better than the stock. WAY better than Brainwavz. The sound quality is about the same as stock, I don't notice a difference really. Volume is about the same as well. (Brainwavz seemed to lower the volume a bit.. Maybe it's because of the sound leaking from them not being as isolated?) In addition to sounding better, canceling noise better, and being easier to apply, these are more comfortable as well. They have a nice firm hold on your ears, but it's not a "squeeze" like some earpads. They have a nice softness that makes you wonder how they are firm cause it kind of contradicts it's self :P So I've been ranting and raving these things up, so maybe I should say "the bad"... - Limited color options. Not a fan of the camo styles and only having black is kind of boring. I got a white pair of headphones so white would have been nice. - They don't come with the headphones by default (this is a joke obviously, but seriously they should :P) - That's really all I can think of? There isn't anything bad about these. If you need new pads or just don't like the stock ones, give these a try. This is not a sponsored review or any BS like that, this is 100% genuine me wanting people to know these are worth buying. I'll update this review if they fall apart or if my opinion changes.

Must Have Upgrade For The ATH-M50x
TLDR: These earpads are extremely comfortable and literally improve the sound compared to the stock earpads, buy them!!! These pads are a MUST HAVE upgrade for any Audio-Technica M series headphones! I love Audio-Technica headphones for their amazing sound quality but I've always hated the comfort, I wear glasses and the ear pads press the arms of the glasses very hard and after a few minutes of use it gets very painful. After a few days of enduring the pain I decided to get third party ear pads to improve the comfort. After a little while of looking I found these velour ear pads made by brainwavz and they looked very comfortable but when I received them and put them on my headphones they totally ruined the sound. My pair of M50x's went from sounding very punchy and crisp to sounding thin and tinny, the sound was a major downgrade compared to the original pads. I couldn't enjoy my M50X's with the brainwavz pads so I decided to try pleather pads instead to see if ear pads made with a different material would make my headphones sound less bad while being able to use them without the extreme discomfort the original ear pads would cause. When I was looking for pleather ear pads I decided to try Wicked Cushions instead of brainwavz because I saw they were very popular and well rated, and I'm happy I did because these pads fix are amazing! they are a major improvement compared to the original pads and even the brainwavz velour pads, I've literally fallen asleep when wearing my headphones with these ear pads! They feel like pillows on my ears, I can wear them all day without the slightest of discomfort. The sound quality of my ATH-M50X with the Wicked Cushions PadZ is an entirely different story from the brainwavz velour pads, those pads ruined the sound and made the M50x's sound thin and sad, on the other hand the Wicked Cushions PadZ IMPROVES the sound even compared to the default pads. The Wicked Cushions PadZ do not alter the sound profile too much from the original pads but they do improve the sound stage and the bass. I can't notice any difference in the treble and the high end, but I'm just going off my memory and I've not extensively compared the original pads to the Wicked Cushions PadZ. However the Wicked Cushions PadZ do change the bass response and increase the bass by a small amount, I personally very much prefer how the bass sounds with the Wicked Cushions PadZ it makes the bass go from sounding punchy and tight to rumbly and impactful but if you hate bass you might not be the biggest fan of these pads. Its important for me to convey to you even if these do slightly change the sound profile they do not alter the overall sound compared to the stock pads. The sound is still flat enough for professional use and unless you really hat bass these wont make the sound worse.

Gave new life to my headphones
My beloved pair of ATH-M50x headphone's original pads were getting incredibly old, having lost every scrap of leather over the years and existing merely as a coarse fabric coating. I was worried about replacing the pads myself, as the pads didn't seem that easy to remove. However, I bought this prodcut and was plesantly surprised with the care that clearly went into the packaging, with a note from the team and a code for 50% off any further purchases from the company. Installing the pads was a nerve-wracking experience - I had to go to a youtube video to figure it out (there is an excellent one made by the manufacturer of this item). They made it look very easy to pull out the stock pads, but in fact I had to pull very hard indeed all around the stock pads - I was very worried I would tear the material of the stock pads. However, once this step was done, installing the new item was easy, so this can't really be counted as a point against the manufacturer. I have found that the pads are very secure and do not turn or warp at all easily, which is something I was a little worried about at first. After hours of wearing the stock pads I would get pain around my ear where the leather rubbed on my skin. These pads fix this issue, and are much more cushioning and comfortable. A minor gripe I have with the product is that because I have a small head, the softer nature of the product means that the headphones aren't quite as secure on my head, even on the lowest setting. I have noticed the headphones falling off a little easier than before, although its not a major problem - It only happens when headbanging haha - I still commute by cycle every day wearing these without issue. The product leaks a little more noise than the stock earpads, and as the headphones sit a little further away from the head it also reduces the volume of the sound a little. Some people mention that it changes the response profile of the sound somewhat, but I did not find this to noticeable. Really the main takeaway is the leaking of the sound - I have had a friend who has known me for a long time and has undoubtably been around me when I listen to music comment that my music was loud within days of installing these new pads. However I feel that it is well worth the tradeoff. Overall a great experience, and I'd recommend them to rejuvenate an aging pair of headphones, or if you aren't happy with the default pads.
