Great Spanish Horchata Option for Newbies
I have never had horchata de chufa before, having been used to Mexican style horchata de arroz. The flavor is very good! I typically eye-ball the syrup into a cup and add milk, then stir. I've drank it with both milk and water and recommend milk. If you're preparing for a large party, this bottle should be sufficient to make a large pitcher of the stuff. You may want to go by the recommended recipe on the bottle at that point and use water, since water is typically free from the faucet. It's not bad with water, but the milk has great synergy with it, so consider both liquid options. If you've never had Spanish-style horchata made with tiger nuts, this syrup is a great place to start. If you're not entertaining regularly, this bottle will last you a while in the fridge. It tastes so different from Mexican-style horchata that I wouldn't bother comparing them. You might like one, or the other, or both. This concentrate makes it very easy to make your own at home.
