𝐃𝐢𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐌.𝟐 𝐭𝐨 𝐔.𝟐 𝐍𝐕𝐌𝐞 SSD, 𝐒𝐅𝐅-𝟖𝟔𝟑𝟗 Drive to 𝐌.𝟐 Host Adapter,U.2 SSD Converter -with Power Cable(50CM)

I've only been using this cable for a few hours, but this has been the ONLY cable on the market that so far appears to properly work with chipset-driven M.2 slots, at least on this MSI board running an Intel CPU. I had two spare M.2 slots in my NAS I was hoping to use a simple M.2 to SFF adapter with, but that did not work on my chipset-drive M.2 slots. This cable worked. The length of the cable is a bit small, likely due to PCIe signal limitations, but it's the perfect length for my 3U NAS. So far, so good, if it ends up being bad or causing issues with my P4800x's, I'll update my review.

Works quite well, as I was able to get an my U.2 NVMe drive(SAMSUNG MZQLB960HAJR-00007 ) to work without any issue so far in my AMD x870 motherboard.

This cable causes PCIe errors on the bus. Initially, I suspected I might have a bad cable, but I tested with another one, and it's all of the M.2 to U.2 cables from DiLinker. I've also used cables from other sellers on Amazon, and they do not cause PCIe errors. Even setting the speed to X1 in my BIOS did not help. Additionally, the cable length for the power supply is not sufficient. Even if it would work properly, it would be difficult to use because of this.

I connected this to a Syba 2.5" U2 mobile rack which needed the 3.5 to 5.25 converter. I used the DiLinKer M.2 to U.2 cable to connect to the M.2 slot on my motherboard. Now we have a easily removable M2 2280. Worth noting is that the mobile rack requires the SATA power for the M2 to work, for me this was a bonus as I can then use my KingWin 6 port SATA power switch to turn it on or off. With the help of Y power cables, I am going to put one set of drives on a single switch and other sets on different switches, thus making it easy to switch OS and configuration - Love It. I have not done an official test of the speed, but it seems very fast, just as fast as when the M.2 was on the motherboard. My only con for this solution is the pricing of the U2 backplanes and mobile carriers is high. I do not like using software base multi-boot.

Same length and build as the intel one that came in my other (retail) optane drive. Works the same. No issues. I know it's a very niche product, but a few more inches on the cable length would have been better. Then, again, the nvme connectors on most motherboards are placed in spots where they're covered by add-in cards. Just be aware of that.

Functionality: absolutely works, zero issues there. If you have any U.2 drives and don't want or can't use a traditional PCIe slot then this is a solid choice. There are some quirks, continue reading. Will it fit under my motherboard SSD heatsink?: Your mileage may vary. Others have said it won't fit and that's more likely than not. In my case, I could, once I moved the cable wrap further down the wires, flattened them out, and removed any thermal pads underneath the heat spreader (see attached images). Quirks: make sure there are no tight bend radii throughout the cable's length for best performance. I used this connector for an Optane (RIP) drive and my 4KQ1 performance was 2/3rds the normal performance before I rerouted the cables to change the way they were arranged in my case. After that, everything was fine. Misc: these apparently use Amphenol connectors (legitimacy unknown) and this looks very similar to the Intel branded m.2 to u.2 adapter they would bundle for their drives. PCIe gen 4 speeds may not be fully reachable with this adapter (untested on my end)

Worked great on my older AMD board to connect an Optane drive as my new OS drive. The drive is only pcie 3 so I dont know how well this cable works on pcie 4 devices but that doesnt matter much to me right now as the 5800X Optane series is VERY expensive and will be for years to come. For now, it performs flawlessly on a storage stress test for my PCIE 3.0 905p Optane drive.

Tried this with a SAMSUNG PMA3 drive which is GEN4x4 and it doesn't even show up in bios on the motherboard, plugged into a GEN4x4 M.2 slot. Probably work with GEN3 U.2 drives. Nice cable though.

Doesn't work with u.2 ssd at all, while other similar adapters like StarTech or Delock do. Refunded.
