I encountered no difficulties during the installation, and everything went smoothly. The adhesive used to hold the shield in place has proven to be reliable, as I have experienced no issues with it so far. If I had one thing to improve it would have been the alignment of the shield along the edge of the hood (the outer edges are slightly uneven, see second photo)Overall, I am highly satisfied with this matte finish hood shield for my F-150 Platinum. It not only enhances the appearance of my truck but also provides functional benefits such as protection against debris and insects while driving. I would definitely recommend this product to other F-150 owners looking to upgrade their vehicle's look and functionality.

I love the bug deflector but it was a little difficult to install due to the short push pins with the hood seal and having to push the pin threw the deflector and hood seal and hood. but I finally got it installed and it looks great and performs well. only other thing the branding sticker just fell off of the deflector. the sticker doesn't stick well, so it is now brandless.

I finally got around to installing this thing. It's in and it looks sharp. Hopefully, it will help with a little less bug smear on my long distance travels.When I looked at the reviews, prior to purchasing this item, it was consistently rated as poor for the mounting hardware. People said to throw away the junk that came with it and go to the hardware store for your own mounting hardware. I thought that, if that was the only problem, I should be able to use their hardware, if I was really careful. Not!Their mounting hardware was poorly conceived and completely unusable, no matter how careful I was. I couldn't get even one of them to work. I was in the process of getting my calipers in there to measure the hole size so I could go to the hardware store, when I realized that their hardware design was, essentially a form of rivet. Put the cheap, expanding plastic barrel into the hole and then drive the metal screw into it to expand it. When I figured that out I simply got out my rivet gun and four rivets and had it completely installed in under ten minutes. I had spent the previous hour and a half, trying to use their hardware. Now, it looks sharp, it's firmly mounted and I'm happy.I would urge any purchaser to throw away the junk that comes with it and reach for a rivet. I would further urge the manufacturer to switch their installation hardware to four rivets and include a rivet gun as mounting tools required. I assure you that there would be a lot more happy customers and it would give others the confidence to buy when that nagging little problem in all of the reviews goes away. Don't have a rivet gun? They're under $20 so that shouldn't be a huge problem, compared to the time that people waste, trying to use their junk hardware.

Although I received it broken ( possibly due to poor packaging and/or handling ), I received another one about 3 days later, after returning the damaged one. This time, the box and item was in good condition but packaging was the same (with no paper or foam paddings). The included plastic fasteners are definitely useless and longer ones that I bought at auto parts store didn't do justice either. ( they don't secure well enough ). I finally bought a pack of 1/4"×1" Zinc Metal Screws, at a hardware store, which works great and fits perfectly tight into the existing holes that holds the rubber seal under the hood. I added 2 thin washers for each screws "to make sure" it doesn't reach the top hood on my 2016 F150 King Ranch. I also spray painted them black before applying.I used the other included hardwares for each ends of the deflector. I highly recommend reading the instructions first and following it to prevent scratching the paint. ( which I didn't do very well and caused me extra time and some light scratches). In all honesty, it took me about an hour to install once I got my "bearings" and the correct screws.For these reasons, I didn't give this item a 5 star rating for installation.

Contrary to some other reviews I found it to be a perfect fit out of the box with the included hardware. Yes the screws are plastic but they are meant to replace the plastic clips for the rubber seal and won't corrode the aluminum hood like a steel screw would. The clips with screws are finicky to install and you have to remove the plastic clips that hold the rubber seal first, but everything aligned with the factory holes and held tight once installed. Looks great!

I have a 2016 Ford F150 Lariat and I bought this hood shield. It fits perfectly onto the hood of my truck . I could have done it by myself but with two people it went on smoothly without any problem .

Worth the extra money, I purchased this one after returning a different model. It looks great on my F150 and it’s very durable. I would recommend it to anyone

Be sure and follow instructions and mount UNDER the rubber hood seal. I personally didn't trust the plastic compression plugs to hold it on, so I fastened it down with machine screws, adds a sleek look to your truck, and is rock solid,

Fit great but watch YouTube videos help
