Easy assembly, nice simple look
I've been streaming ballet classes weekly during the pandemic, and finally decided to invest in a portable barre. I did a lot of searching and ended up with this one since it was on the cheaper end of the spectrum and had a clean and simple appearance. I think their newer model has an extra pipe connecting the supports at the bottom, and I didn't like the look of that (I also thought it might get in the way when doing exercises facing the barre or using the inside leg). Two things I had wondered about were:1) the curved stands -- I wondered if these would be sturdy enough. It turns out they are, since they're metal. I can actually stand on it to stretch out my arches, although I probably shouldn't do that too regularly.2) one of the reviews below complains about the the supports rotating around while the barre's in use -- I gave that connection (between the curved stand and black vertical support) an extra tight turn, and after a full hour-long class (that was quite difficult and involved a lot of gripping the barre), found that it was fine. When I'm relying on the barre a lot I do find that it'll occasionally tilt towards me, but I don't think that can be helped with portable barres of this size. I read one review that complained it was smaller than pictured, but I would disagree -- I found it bigger than I had expected, and more than adequate for one person to use.

Excellent barre for home use
After 30 years of not practicing ballet, I decided to get back to it. I chose to do it from home for now and this barre is perfect!!I went with the pinewood double barre black. I wanted actual wood, and after contacting the seller, they told me to choose the Pinewood. I know some reviewers complained that it wasn’t real wood. That means they picked the coated version. The barre was very easy to assemble. I am very happy with the overall quality. It is fairly sturdy and has non slip pads so that it doesn’t slide. However, expect it to wobble a little bit if you put too much pressure on it. I wouldn’t recommend it for a business unless it was for little ballerinas.

Perfect for at home ballet/workouts!
I am so happy you guys have created a portable barre for at home and other products for people who love to ballet at home! I purchased ballet beautiful and sleek technique DVDs to use. I hate doing hardcore gym stuff but ballet has always been a beautiful workout and works for my body so when I saw this barre I HAD to buy it! It was so easy to put together! It’s also very sturdy and easy to take from one room to another! It’s also very nice looking especially with the wood, unlike other at home barre’s. I also noticed the instruction manual had a page where you get a free leg stretcher and spin disc for free when you order their artan barre! All you have to do is email them your order number! That was an amazing experience because I have been eyeing a leg stretcher so this was a pretty amazing bonus!!! What a great company and customer service!!! I will be buying more products from them and have been using my barre each day!! Thank you again, Artan Balance!!

This barre has made my at-home workouts as good as they were in the studio!
In mid-March my barre studio closed down physically due to the pandemic, but immediately started offering virtual classes to it's members. It was wonderful to be able to keep up with my workout regimen, but I was going to need a few props and a barre to make it complete. I researched a number of barres on Amazon and in the end based on quality, reviews and price, I decided to move forward with this one. NO REGRETS! This barre is lightweight, easy to move (I store in my guest room, but move into my bedroom for my actual workout in front of a mirror). You actually have two barres that can be set at one of 4 preset levels...they work perfectly to mirror the barre heights in my studio. All in all, I'm SO glad I went with this barre, especially now that my studio has permanently closed and ALL of my workouts will be at home from here on in.

Looks nice but not sturdy at all.
We bought this barre for our daughter for Christmas. It looks great!!! It is lightweight and easy for our daughter to move on her own. However, we could tell right away that it would become loose very easy and was wobbly. The paperwork that came with the barre encouraged us to contact the company if we had issues with the sturdiness, and they could give us tips. When we did that, we were told that the the barre we purchased was their newest model and there was no way to make it better. Ok, at the time, we felt like this would do for the little at home practice she was doing. We would just tighten it every couple of weeks. Now that she is using the barre 3x a week for her online ballet classes (COVID) it is becoming apparent that this will not do long term. After an hour of use, it is so wobbly that it has to be tightened before the next use. The legs have always turned easily—now they turn every time she has to move it to the other side and she has to fix them—taking time away from her class. There has to be something better than this.

Nice barre but it’s metal
I would’ve preferred a wood bar and this one seemed to be wood but it’s actually metal painted to look like wood. It was easy to put together and it’s a nice addition to my home gym. I’m not sure how much weight can take, it has little side screws that don’t click in to anything but just sort of hold it in place, Putting too much weight on the bar could cause it to dislodge. The bottom pieces are extremely unstable and turn in or out whenever I move this thing. The bar itself seems to come out of the part that holds it. I wish I would’ve gotten the workout barre on here instead for $10 more
