Excellent...if what you want is a 6# maul
First: before you ever use this tool, you will want an over-strike handle protector. You can make one out of this or that, or buy something like this:https://www.amazon.com/The-Original-Handle-Saver-Large/dp/B079VNXL6Z/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=sledge+hammer+handle+protector&qid=1616157276&sr=8-1This Collins is a 6-pound-head maul. That is a good weight for the splitting of easy-to-split wood. If you have 8" diameter cedar/pine/aspen...this is your tool. If, on the other hand, you are splitting 18" beech...you will need an 8# maul, for sure. There will be folks who can't aggressively swing a 8# maul...in that case, the 6# when used with total-abandon is better than hesitant love taps with the 8#.For anyone splitting difficult wood, you will need one, two, or even three splitting wedges to go along with whatever maul you buy.Everyone will need a quality flat file to keep the mauls and wedges sharp.https://www.amazon.com/Nicholson-Hand-American-Pattern-Rectangular/dp/B00018ACTA/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=10+inch+flat+file&qid=1616157878&sr=8-3And, eye protection!

Very, very dull. Does not cut wood
This is a dangerous product. The blade is very dull and too thick to sharpen. I hurt my back very badly while trying to split a log. Be careful and spend a few extra bucks to get a quality axe/splitting mull.
