Highly recommended for any basketball coach, especially for middle school and above teams
As a coach of multiple sports, I am always looking for resources that explain why certain drills work or don't work or what I can do to help educate the young athletes so they can improve their self-confidence in the game and their abilities. This book explains the process very well and also does a lot of focus on body/foot positioning which is the key to successful shooting. Author also gives a lot of tips at the end of most chapters as to what could be causing less success.

Cut and Shoot
180 Shooter fits perfectly with McCormick's other teaching. If your 10-12 year old players are moving and passing well, but still struggling with shots that aren't layups, the methods in this book will change that.

Great for inspired ball players
Good teaching book. Too bad my daughter didn't read it.

Good for beginners
Its, alright. I've tested the shooting form of this and saw a slight improvement in my shot. I think watching youtube videos following the SWISH technique works. But for a newbie learning to shoot its good stuff

Buy It
Great Book. Worth Buying for the first chapter. Also showed me where to place your index finger on the ball and after I taught my 10 year old he hit about 25 in a row from 10' in practice and opened the next game 5 for 5 on jump shots. small tip made a big difference. Worth the money.

Thinking about basketball
Brian, as it relates to basketball, is an brilliant, original thinker. His writings and thoughts about basketball caused me re-think and re-calibrate how I taught and coached the game. I encourage players, coaches and fans to immerse themselves into Brian’s work. Brian’s style is accessible to everyone—no matter where you fall in your understanding of basketball. It's revolution-- but it is also filled with simple 'a-ha' moments that can translate into more shots being made in games.
