I really really love this red Dot optic on my Canik TP9-SFX
I really really love this red Dot optic on my Canik TP9-SFX. The FastFire III is an amazing addition to my hand gun. I did notice at first I turned it on and after a few moments it turned off and wouldnt turn back on. I removed the battery and put it back in and it worked. It did have to do this twice right off the bat but after the second time it never did it again. When you do install the battery take your time and make sure the lid is lined up perfect then screw it down tight. It leads me to believe that maybe I didnt install the battery properly the first two times. I have since put 1200 rounds with this sight mounted and it has worked flawlessly. My groups are extremely tight and I had no problem picking up the red dot. The key is to look at your target and the sight will be there every time. If you try to focus on your screen or iron sights first it wont.be there and will take some time to pick it up. I dont know for you but I feel we are designed to focus in at our target or threat, not iron sights. I feel for this reason it makes using an optic like a red dot effective. The Burris FastFire III does not disappoint. The quality is just as good as most out there twice or three times the price. I picked up the Burris instead of the Vortex viper due to the fact that Ive heard Burris has top notch customer service. I'm SUPER impressed with the FastFire III and would recommend this to anyone in the market for a red dot optic. If you have any questions feel free to ask. If my review helped you out please thumb me up. Thanks for reading.

DOA and Burris Was No Help
I was so excited to mount my Burris Fastfire 3 on my new pistol. Before installing it I figured I should install the battery and see what the 8 MOA dot looked like. Well, I installed the battery and pressed the on button. Nothing. I double-checked the instructions and yes the battery was in correctly and the battery cap was installed right too. I called up Burris technical support and they had me test the battery. 3.3 volts so it was good. They then suggested I send it back to Amazon because a return thru them would take 2 to 3 weeks. I asked if they could just ship me a new unit and I ship this one back. They said that that was against their policy. Perhaps they should institute a policy of testing their products before shipping them out to consumers.

Great sight, some mounting issues
After a lot of research I thought I'd try this as a cheaper alternative to the significantly more expensive options out there. The sight seems very well made and mounted up easily to my Glock 19 MOS following the MOS-specific instructions from Burris. Mine needed a lot of adjustment but once set seemed to hold zero well and is really nice to use.I did run into a problem after a few hundred rounds - the mounting plate that came with the Glock and attaches the sight to the firearm had started to lift. Actually, it appeared to be bending. When I went to remove the sight I had issues with the screws provided with it, which stripped almost instantly. After a lot of work I had to drill out the screws. The plate was actually OK once removed but it was evident from marks on the top of the firearm that when this sight is attached to a Glock using the screws & instructions Burris provide the screws go slightly too far through the plate and push into the slide, lifting the mounting plate. Some research online revealed a good alternative screw of just the right length (Traxxas 2550, sold here on Amazon) and I was able to re-mount the sight using those. Time will tell if it holds up - not enough rounds through to know for sure yet.Otherwise, a nice sight with a good range of adjustment that seems to hold zero well. A solid alternative to widely recommended more expensive options, mounting challenges notwithstanding.

Mine was defective. Read full review
So long story short I was looking to buy a trijicon rmr. But did not feel like spending almost 500 on one single mini red dot sight. So I ended up buying a Fastfire and a vortex venom to try them both out and put a review on a page I have online. I loved the sight out of the box and mounted it and was so excited to go shoot. Sighting it in was easy. And my shot groups was very tight. My issues came after about 10 to 15 rounds after being sighted in, the issue was that it would turn of every other shot. Then randomly work for about 5 then start acting up again. I will note that even with it turning off after every other shot, my shot groups were tight. This sight works pretty well it seems, mine was just defective I guess. So for this reason I can only give it two stars.

Shuts off unexpectedly while firing. Resolved.
Mount is tight and battery is fine - the red dot stays on when at home; that is, the gun is not being fired :-)Could be a defective unit; however, I've seen another post somewhere else with a similar issue. Contacted Burris and awaiting response.Burris provided RMA and I returned it to them. Ten days later I received a brand new one in the box (including all accessories.) Took this one to the range, fired maybe 50 rounds... did not have any issues of it shutting down. Works great.
