Works great
This is a great tool. I had always been a bit intimidated by waffle makers, but I finally decided to buy one. This product is easy to use and easy enough to clean. I usually put a wet paper towel on the grates after I use it to get steam going and then wipe once it cools a little. Great product to make a nice treat every now and then.

Awesome Belgian Waffles Eveytime
The two best words on a diner menu are "Belgian waffle." Images spring to mind of perfectly browned, spongy-soft disks with deep crevasses for holding pools rich maple syrup, crowned with a pile of whipped cream and fresh berries. Major yummage. Well, now it can be yours anytime you want, as much as you want. The Cuisinart WAF-200 is the answer. I've never had a waffle make before. Thought it would be good to make waffles for the family on christmas morning, and this guy was on sale. It comes securely packed, fully assembled. It's a handsome unit, with a clean-looking stainless steel outside top. Because this is not the kind of waffle maker that you have to flip over, it has a small footprint. Indeed, it is even cleverly designed so you can store it standing up, saving space. Where this thing really shines, though, is in actually doing what it is supposed to do - make perfect belgian waffles. Opening the clamshell design reveals upper and lower non-stick surfaces with the familiar waffle pattern. After preheating the unit to the desired level of doneness, all you have to do is pour in the batter, close the top, and wait until it beeps. That's it. The result is a perfect belgian waffle, every time. You can select the level of doneness from 1-6, with 6 being a darker, crispier waffle. I like mine lighter and not so done, so I'm at about a 2 1/2. Its takes about 1 heaping dry-measure cup to make one waffle. I will remind you what other have said: do not, do not, DO NOT use any spray or butter or oil on the cooking surface. You do not need it and you will ruin it. When your waffle is done, it will simply lift right out. Either carefully use a regular fork (dont scratch the surface!) or get a plastic waffle fork. Bottom line: the Cuisinart WAF-200 rocks. So far through about two dozens waffles, its bee perfect every single time. Get it.

Professional performance and healthy oil-free cooking
As a regular user of the Cuisinart brand, this Belgian waffle maker does not disappoint. It is a robust tool that delivers exactly what it promises, allowing for total breakfast customization. True Non-Stick Performance: The secret to this appliance is its heat management. If you allow the machine to reach the proper temperature before pouring the batter, the plates are completely non-stick. I have achieved perfect waffles without using a single drop of oil or spray, which is ideal for maintaining a clean diet. Browning Control: The 6 browning settings are very precise. They allow you to go from a soft waffle to a deeply crispy one just by turning the knob, maintaining uniform cooking across the entire surface. Cleaning and Design: Since it doesn't require added fats, cleaning is extremely simple—just a damp cloth once it cools down is enough. Verdict: An excellent investment for those seeking professional quality at home. Its durability and ease of use make it the best in its category.

Read the instructions and you’ll be fine!
I was expecting to have to do a lot of trial and error but my first waffle came out great! Read the instructions, people! I used krusteaz pancake mix with their recipe on the bag for waffles (add egg, water, oil). Then I plugged in the unit, turned the knob to between 4-5, and while it’s heating up the batter has a few minutes to settle. When the unit beeped indicating it was to temp, I brushed oil on the iron plates and poured a little more than 1c batter in and evened it with a heat safe spatula. Pro tip: use a liquid measuring cup for this part! I left it closed until it beeped and then even kept it closed a few more seconds. Then gently opened and a perfect waffle emerged. It was a tad soft for my taste so I did the next one on 5 and it came out great. The last one I only filled 3 of the 4 waffle quarters because that’s how much batter I had left and it turned out perfect also! Pro tip: If you have the top of your waffle only partly golden or mostly white *you’re not using enough batter* and it’s not reaching the top of the iron when it rises. I’ve only used this once but so far have observed no weakness in the handle. I’m wondering if other reviewers’ units were damaged in shipping or were dropped. --- Edited to update after owning for 1 year: I still really love this waffle maker and it works great, per my initial review. Now I double the Krusteaz recipe (4c mix, 3c cold water, 2 eggs, 1/4c oil) and it makes about 5.5 waffles. Leftovers freeze great and need just a few minutes in the toaster oven to crisp perfectly. My handle is still intact, and I'm not bothered by the fact that it gets hot (it's an iron!). Clean up is fine since I always brush the plates with a little oil between each waffle. Buy this guy, or if you're afraid it's a knockoff buy directly from Cuisinart or a big box store. I'd buy it again. Zero regrets.

Very easy to clean, well built, great non stick cooking area. Highly recommend
Awesome waffle maker! We looked at a LOT of waffle makers before finally deciding on this one. The non stick surface on the cooking area works perfectly! Super easy to clean. Great value for the money. I would highly recommend this waffle maker.

Great maker and LARGE waffles!
Great waffle maker. The top handle is large so you don't get your hand too close to the hot top. It is huge so the waffles are big and can easily be split for kids. It is truely non stick (I have had bad luck before). The beeps for "ready" are loud enough to actually hear. And the level of cooking is perfect. Yes you have to get used to how much mix to put in, but if some spills out the side it is easy to wipe up.

Muy buena para waffles grandes y delgados
Cómoda y con buen teflón, los waffles son mas grandes de lo normal, pero también más delgados, prefiero los waffles mas gruesos pero el dorado es bueno y la facilidad de uso es perfecta.
