I have one of these clamps already and I use it a ton for the Kreg pocket hole jig. It clamps well and it's easy to use one handed. You can use it as a face clamp as well if you need to because of the flat clamping surfaces. So don't just think that this is a clamp for the pocket hole jig only. I picked up this second one because 1) I've been wanting a second one; and 2) I picked up the Kreg drawer slide jig and I need two clamps to use that jig effectively. The adjustment screw for the clamp size works well. It's a bit stiff on this new one, but I like that. It means that my hand won't rub against it and change the setting when un-clamping. On my holder one, it's easier to adjust the screw, so sometimes it ends up adjusting itself. I'm not saying the new one's screw is hard to adjust. It works just fine. It just is a bit more stiff, which I think is better. The only thing I don't like about this clamp is that the bottom rubber grip slides off too easily. I find myself pushing it back on a lot. I thought about dropping a bit of super glue on the metal handle and then putting the grip back on, but I haven't messed with it yet. So, that's the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Overall, though, I would buy another if I needed it. I don't have any other clamps like this, but I've looked at a few in stores. They all seem fairly similar if you're looking at name brand things. Probably made in the same factory.

I bought this clamp after purchasing the Kreg Jr kit. I built an end table using the Kreg jr and quick clamps that I already had but found that those clamps required two hands to use and have accurate placement of the jig. this left me one hand short to hold any oversized boards in place as I clamped. after building that end table I purchased this clamp and boy is it night and day difference. the Kreg Jr snaps onto this clamp making it much easier to position and clamp, and keeps the jig from falling off the work board. additionally since this is an adjustable clamp, you can set it for the required thickness and then unlock and move to another spot on the board, or another equally thick board without having to start over again. pros- -much easier to use the kreg jr on similar sized boards than other clamps -jig wont fall off work surface because it is attached to the clamp -size is right for most projects cons- -costs slightly more than I would prefer -like most newer "vice grip" style camps, it does not include a release latch on the handle. some prefer this but I lament the loss of that little release latch. over all, I am happy with the purchase, I wish the cost was slightly lower but I found the clamp to be worth the money. if you have the Kreg Jr this is a must get accessory.

It does not auto-adjust to the thickness of the materials you are clamping. You need to make pre-adjustment. The clamped pieces are not very secure but suffice to do drilling if there is minimum vibration.
