This product does exactly what I want it to do to hold my pixie in place. It's not waxy or sticky feeling. This will be my new go-to hair product! It' produces just enough shine and doesn't look dull. A lot of folks like the smell. I don't like the smell because it smells a bit like cinnamon with a hint of mint? I know, sounds weird. But that won't keep me from buying it again. I'll put up with the smell because the product works so good!

This product is not always available at my salon so I was thrilled to see Amazon had it. Wonderful product and smells good

This is the miracle I’ve been looking for since John Frieda Spun Gold Balm was discontinued!! It’s texture and hold is perfect (I have a buzzed spiky pixie) and I found the scent lovely, not strong as others have said. I loved it so much that I just ordered another...and I only got my original order and used it once, today. The price is fair too. Give it a try!

I generally figure when the idiot at the "salon" tries to push "product" on me (when did that word become a proper noun eschewing modifying adjectives?), it's going to be overpriced and underperforming. Certainly American Crew products qualify. But Over Achiever proved to be the exception.At long last I have hair goop that actually makes my hair behave and mostly stay in place. Such a small amount is necessary, I haven't even touched the inside yet, just dabbing a little from what's stuck to the lid. There's a waxy feel, but the end result is clean and dry looking, not at all greasy. Nobody will snark, "gee, that's a lot of product."I have short hair, fine and mostly lifeless. I'm using a very small dab (half the size of a pea), rubbed between the fingertips, then finger combed through the front and sides of towel damp hair. I began hitting it with a hair dryer, but actually found better results just brushing it damp and leaving it alone. When I finally found a competent barber who cut my hair properly, the results were even better.One star deleted for the smell. It's certainly not unpleasant for either gender, but it's way too strong. Why perfume it at all? Unless to cover up a natural stink it would have otherwise. At least, again, it's not offensive.Anyway, it works. 'Bout damn time.

Good men's hair care product

I used to use the spike stuff that Axe sells from Walmart, until a stylist from Regis introduced me to this stuff. At first, I thought it was kind of sticky compared to the Axe stuff, but after using it for awhile I really became fond of this product. It washes off easily and it works better than the Axe stuff. Only con is it is a bit pricer than the Axe stuff. You get what you pay for in this case. Axe keeps bumping up their prices so I decided to move on with another product and I haven't looked back. Great for short spikey hair.

This is my new favorite product. My barber introduced me to it and I immediately had to get some. The 3-1 feature is definitely noticeable. It holds like wax without weighing your hair down, and leaves your hair feeling light with a natural look like a paste and cream. I normally mix a couple of hair products to get the look I like and this product saves me the trouble of having to do that. Try it out!

I do not recommend this product if you have dandruff or very dark hair. It will leave flakes or residue even if you don't use a lot. It holds well enough... The scent is okay... Overall, this product is just okay.

Das Produkt hab ich schon das 4. Mal und bin immer noch sehr zufrieden damit. Es klebt nicht in den Haaren und sie lassen sich gut stylen damit.

I have been using this product for a few years now and always happy with the results it gives me. I do tend to use other brands which are cheaper but they don't give the same high quality as this Matrix product. It holds well, not sticky or greasy and leaves my hair looking great! Great product.
