Kwikset 99090-023 SmartCode Electronic Deadbolt featuring Smart Key, Venetian Bronze

Great lock and great price. I always buy Kwikset whenever replacing lock sets. They stand behind their products 100%. This lock looks nice and functions well. Installation was a little more time than a traditional lock, it still simple.

Keep in mind this electronic deadbolt is only one month old. The installation was pretty easy with the inside outer case being a little tough to align, but once aligned it looks pretty good. Programming is easy and the bolt moves in-out smoothly. I do not know how long the four AA batteries will last but hopefully at least a year. What I really liked was the ability to rekeying the lock to my existing house key -no locksmith needed!

It looks like this product is being continued, which is a shame. The first one I got had a defective clutch, but Amazon replaced it quickly. It took about 10 minutes to install, including programming and rekeying it. Very easy to use.

I kind of expected this particular electronic lock, being more expensive and being Grade 2, was going to have a quieter locking motor, but apparently not. I live in a loft building and you can hear this thing lock INSIDE of the elevator 100 ft down the hall with the elevator door closed! It is loud and the sound echos throughout the hallway, unfortunately. It is what it is on that point, but my neighbor's Schlage is much quieter and has a lower pitch to the motor noise. I got this one because I wanted Satin Chrome to best match my actual stainless steel door handles (and nickel is too yellow). Overall, though, it works well, it's easy to program, and the buttons have a nice tactile feel. I wanted this one also because it had the highest security grade I could find (affordably) with an electronic lock. The deadbolt I replaced this with was key operated only and had a Grade 1 security rating. I'm wasn't about to get some crappy hollow deadbolt...

I've had this for about 7 and 1/2 months at the time of writing this review. I've been using electronic keypad deadbolts for a while now and I would not want to be without one.This one has the style we were going for and works great so far. In the past I've had some that needed motors and boards replaced by now and I'm glad that hasn't happened with this one yet. The auto lock function has been a great help in securing my home given that my family is, frankly, quite careless. I like how you can get it to turn on a backlight by pressing the lock button. I didn't want any wireless or bluetooth "smart" functions because I didn't want to have to troubleshoot that stuff with my technologically impaired family all the time. Pressing a button when you leave the house and pressing 4 when you come home is about as simple as it gets. If you leave the screws off the internal back cover you can switch the auto lock on an off easily with a fingernail. It's got everything I want and none of the "advanced" things that probably don't work reliably yet.

I shopped around for a chrome finish numeric deadbolt and these were the best value. I installed 3 yesterday and they were SUPER easy to install. They work as promised and fingers crossed that they continue. I love the Kwikset Smart Key feature - usually buy Smart Key locks for my homes & clients as it makes re-keying ridiculously easy. I would buy these again for sure. Great value

We're about two years into installing this combo lock on our back door and we wanted to have something that allowed us to leave the house without keys. It worked well for a bit less than a year but then the keypad started randomly losing power. Most times you could got it a couple hits and get the battery connection back, but it's been just getting worse and worse. Now it's not working a quarter of the time and fails even when I try to lock it. So it's basically a manual dead bolt that sometimes allows you to use the keypad

The lock we ordered was missing multiple, multiple parts, so count your parts if you purchase. All of the set screws and 2 different kinds of finishing screws were all missing from our “new” lock. Apart from all the missing parts, install also seemed needlessly complicated for a deadbolt.

Esta es la primer cerradura electronica que compro y tiene menos de una semana que la instale hasta hoy todo bien.Me es muy util ya que mi hijo tiene la mala costumbre de olvidar poner seguro, pero con esta cerradura ya no hay problema ya que se cierra automaticamente a los 30 segundos y tambien ya que las 2 cerraduras son de la misma marca solo necesitamos una llave para abrir ambas en dado de que se quede sin bateria o algo le pase al funcionamiento electronico de esta cerradura.Es muy facil instalar y programar los codigos de acceso, necesita 4 baterias AA que no incluye, el unico detalle seria el ruido que hace y durante la noche si se escucha algo alto

If your door is not chiseled (which is common) the lock will not work. I did not see this in the description, only found out as I was getting ready to install. Instructions says to contact Kwikset to get the right part, but the phone number does not work in Canada.

Recomiendo esta chapa. Tenía una igual que me duró casi 5 años, usándola alrededor de 20 veces al día.

Puede instalar el producto cualquiera persona. El manual explica muy fácil la programación de las claves de acceso.
