Where is this battery made? are the cells truly 1700 mah? Canon Battery is only 1100 mah but seems to last longer than all third party batteries.

I have no idea where these batteries are made, however, this product is absolutely great. I highly recommend it. I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase.

Help in a bind: "micro usb cable" for charging? i'm a apple/mac computer guy & an iphone owner. can i use this device?

This charger comes with an wall-plug adapter so you can charge the batteries that way. I’d think it would be faster than plugging into your computer’s USB port.

can a camera read battery life?

Ummmm, wouldn't that depend on the camera and not the battery?
