Worth every penny
I am a mobile engineer and so spend a lot of time In my car travelling all over and have a bit of a thing for cold Coca Cola! I have spent hundreds over the years on traditional thermoelectric (peltier plate) fridges. Every 12-18 months I would have to buy a new one as the fan would fail. The problem with the thermoelectric ones are they just do not cool down very quickly and use a massive amount of energy. I would spend time every evening bringing it in to plug in and put ice packs in the freezer to help keep it cool. I found that often enough that once the car interior temperature got really hot the fridge would blow warm air as it was only cooling 15-18 degrees below the car temperature that could be up in its 40’s so after a hard days work you had a lukewarm can of coke for all the effort and if you left it plugged in over night to the car you ended up with a flat battery. I ended up using a low voltage disconnect relay to protect me from flat batteries! (Although that’s another story as the disconnect didn’t work and still flattens battery!)I saw this and decided I had nothing to loose and was worth a try. I wish I had done this a long time ago. It holds about 30 cans of coke and cooled them down from ambient to 3 degrees in about 3-4 hours on my way to site. Even testing at home when delivered it took about 25min to get down to 2 deg whilst empty. So the fridge is the 22L version has a light in it, is well made the lid has a chain to stop it falling over backwards, the handles are built in and sturdy. The finish is nice and it even has an ice cube tray. It has its own built in battery protection so if you leave it connected to the car battery all week it won’t go flat and a USB port on top so you don’t loose complete use of the cigar lighter In the car.The fridge fits behind the back seat in my octavia but only just and I had to put a box under it to lift it up to fit (this is not a negative on the fridge) it’s been plugged into the car now for over a week and I have found that for me i set it to -1 (checked with calibrated temperature probe) this is cold enough for my drinks and at the same time also makes ice cubes in the car at this temperature. Yes I am able to make ice In the car!!So far it has not cut out due to a low battery and the car was sat all weekend from 3pm Friday until 8am Monday with the fridge plugged in and running. As it’s a proper compressor driven fridge it only runs when needed to keep the temperature stable. So uses very little energy once the contents are cooled. It is also capable of going down to -20 so you could even put ice cream In instead (only has the one compartment so everything will freeze) but just imagine sat in traffic on the M25 in sweltering heat and you pull out a magnum ice cream for everyone in the car. The looks on other drivers faces would be priceless!!! But seriously yes it’s a lot of money initially but it is a proper fridge/freezer so come Christmas you have extra storage for food or drink. Summer bbq on the beech you can fill it with drinks or what ever and with a 10000mah power bank it will power the fridge for 8-12hSo to sum up it’s a real fridge like the one in your kitchen, uses less power than thermo electric ones. More compact than expansion fridges. Works far superior to traditional thermoelectric, is silent (even less fan/compressor noise than thermoelectric) you can leave it plugged into the car all weekend and still not flatten the battery. No need to drag it In every night or swap out freezer packs and end up with warm drinks still. If your unsure about getting one or if it will work as advertised then don’t be you won’t regret itIt’s now been a while (October 2021) and have some updates. Fridge is still going strong and has been fantastic. I have found that the more you keep in it the better (from an energy consumption point of view) on an average temperature say I’ve found the car will happily run the fridge for 30-48h and still start (2ltr diesel car) if full of cans. If you only have a few in it then it will turn on more often and use more energy. The only small niggle I have is it could have better insulation for when it’s off as it doesn’t stay cold as long as a cool box would but it’s still a purchase I can’t recommend enough

Truck driver review 9th September 2020
Buy a fridge/freezer like this, I don’t think u will be disappointed, as you will likely be with a cheap cool box, which is why I’m posting this reviewI find this 12v24v230v fridge works on all power options, cools to 0 degrees in 35 mins, turns on and off as required to keep set temp, it needs constant power to stay cold although unplug for half an hour and it will be ok with the food and drinks etcI find it is almost silent and perfect even for a light sleeper to sleep with it running a few inches from your head, the display can be a bit bright when it’s dark but a tea towel over the display sorts out the light, it also has an led light built in which is useful which cannot be turned offAt 22 litres is a bit small for all week and insulation not the best, but cool efficiency is so good it doesn’t really matter as long as keep plugged in26 or 31 litres I think would suit me better, I leave it plugged in a truck 24 hours a day with no flat battery, the battery saver I had to adjust to the m setting instead of h. Which is adjusted by unlocking the display, press and hold the setting or gear symbol, the h will flash then press to select H,M or LIt will keep fridge stuff nice and cold with ambient temp of 35 degrees, I find set temp at minus 1 is nice and cold for food and drinks and will not freeze drinks even if there’s a bit of ice in themit will keep frozen stuff too with minus 20 and froze solid a small bottle of water in under 2 hours as I wanted to have a nice cold drink of water set at minus 20 So keeping ice cream in it won’t be a problemFor £250 it’s reasonable value for moneyMy only real dislikes is the cigarette lighter plug which I plan on changing as I find it does not stay plugged in while in my multi way socket in car, direct in to car is fine, and the lid only closes shut with no catch to lock it shut I think it’s held shut with magnetsThe ice cube tray could be useful but I don’t like the ice cube trayU can keep chilled or frozen in this fridge/freezerI may look to get a slightly larger fridge in the future 31 litres but that will cost a lot more money only due to size and not the tempI find the unit size is really good, either sit on floor or on a seat no problem, I hope you can see pictures posted, delivery arrived a day early from Germany, I would buy another one without question, and recommend to family and friends

Cold, economic, low wattage, quiet. Fab purchase
Love this portable fridge, best thing I’ve bought in ages! It’s quiet, compressor only kicks in once in a while and then only draws 30-35watts for a short while. And if vehicle battery is dropping, this will stop drawing current so you can start your vehicle. Great value, if you’ve been using cool box with 12v fin and fan cooling dump it for this!

Does not work
Temperature set to - 20°C and running from the mains charger. After 2 hours, the fridge reports - 18/-19°C but the temperature inside is - 4°C.The reason I conducted this measurement is because having tried to use it to keep ice cream frozen on 2 different occasions, it has failed.Mis-sold

An excellent product.
I bought this as a standby for the fridge in the motorhome. Luckily just in time for the motorhome fridge to breakdown.Initially there was a problem with the electrical connection. This was resolved easily and the supplier was most helpful in this. The fridge is excellent on mains voltage but less so on 12 volt. Since most of our journeys are 3 hours or less the unit manages to maintain a reasonable temperature (rarely more than 10 degrees loss). It will not allow a standard bottle of wine to be upright. It fits all the fresh produce we need for at least 3 days plus butter sauces etc.I would recommend this product.

A great fridge
This is a fantastic fridge, very quiet and has enough room for what I need. I will eventually get another for a freezer. I currently use this at home and I think it's better on electricity and portable for when I go camping
