Fusion Concerto > Extreme Engineering Speed Harness
I am the Activities Director for a camp and conference center. I personally use harnesses like this thousands of times per year. My organization, as a whole, uses them tens of thousands of times per year. We require our harnesses to be safe, easy, and fast. Historically, my organization has used the Extreme Engineering Speed Harness (http://www.extremeengineering.com/rock-climbing-walls/climbing-wall-speed-harness/), that is until we found the Fusion Concerto which is far better in every way. For the sake of this review, I will be comparing the Fusion Concerto harness and the Extreme Engineering Speed Harness. 1) Size: The Concerto harness fits people with waist sizes 15"-57". The Speed Harness 22"-45". This is significant. 2) Leg buckles: The seat belt buckles on the Speed Harnesses are far less durable than the Presto buckles on the Concerto. We find the plastic on the seat belt buckles starts to fall off after about 1000 uses, rendering the harnesses unusable. 3) Speed Harness waist buckles loosen: The waist buckles on the Speed Harness tend to loosen when not under a load. The Concerto does not have this problem. 4) Waist buckles: The double locking snap hook on the Speed Harness is one of the first pieces to wear out. We find that we get about 3 years of use out of these. Our inspector recommends we retire our harnesses every 10 years or when necessary due to wear. This doesn't add up. The Concerto buckles are much more durable. 5) Comfort: The Concerto harnesses do not ride up into the crotch as much as the Speed Harnesses do. They are more comfortable 6) Price: The Concerto harness retails for $58 vs. the Speed Harness for $199.95. If you are looking for a safe, easy, fast, and durable harness at a reasonable price. The Fusion Concerto is the way to go. 4/30/2021 edit: After 6 years of use, I can still attest that these harnesses are great, with one caveat: the Presto buckles used on these harnesses have two "wings" that must be engaged for the harness to be on properly. Under tension, it is possible for the harness to appear buckled with only one of these two wings engaged. At our business, we call this a "broken wing" (see picture for image of "broken wing"). In all the many tens of thousands of times we have used these harnesses, we have had one leg loop come open accidentally one time. If you buy these, train yourself and/or your staff to look out for broken wings all day, every day.

The buckles loosen.
This does the job it was designed to do. It's good enough for light duty work but I have to readjust the straps every time I climb. If I stay suspended by only the harness for very long my legs start to fall asleep. Overall I'd say it's okay for a home owner that uses it once in awhile but if you need a harness for your day job I'd say pass on this one and get a nicer one. This harness would be best for a roofer where you need to be able to walk around easily most of the time and the harness is only there to keep you from falling off of something.

Solid harness
My only complaint is the weight of the buckles on the legs draws those straps down causing a pulling on the harness at the waist. Definitely easy on and off and well made.
