Low cost, easy-to-read, everyday watch
Likes:- Easy to read• Dials/watch hand color (white) contrasts well with the black background of the watch• 5 minute time increments denoted with the bold dash marks on the outer circumference of the watch for quick time approximates is a nice addition- Standard or military time- Double loop NATO band/strap, made from nylon, that is lightweight, durable and breathable for light to moderate activitiesOther comments & dislikes:- The watch crown is larger, about 6½mm-7mm in diameter and it is not protected with any angled or beveled metal around it. Possible to be snagged or tugged on.- The bioluminescence on the hour and minute hands is present but short lived, but it is a nice feature nonetheless. If you are working in a dark environment I would not depend on the bioluminescence to make out time if that is important for you.Overall this is a great everyday wear watch and hopefully it holds up over the year.

A great value field watch!
I wanted to give this watch about a week on the wrist before giving my opinion on the watch. I base my decisions on a new watch off the price point and then the overall value that the watch offers for that price. For under $30, you're getting a really nice value in my opinion. The hardened mineral crystal is flat and clear which I like and I was not expecting to get any sapphire crystal at this price point so I have no complaints there. The day/date function is awesome as I like to have a date function. The day of week complication is just icing on the cake for me personally. I do want to point out that the case appears to be made of a metal alloy that gives this really nice sandblasted finish effect. Its not quite matte, not quite pearlescent, but gives some shine that looks great! The NATO strap that the watch comes on is nice quality and what I would expect if I were to pay $10-$15 for a strap from amazon so I appreciate the quality of the hardware on the NATO strap right out of the box. Being quartz, I can tell that this movement is decent, as there is little to no bounce in the second hand and I know the battery life will last for quite a long time before needing to be replaced. With 50M of water resistance, I don't have to worry about this watch being out in the rain or outdoors, which is great peace of mind. Lastly, the lume on the dial is quite bright for this price point. It's not BG9 superluminova or anything like that, but it glows brightly and lasts for a reasonable amount of time. Much longer than many other inexpensive watches I own that have lume on the hands/dial. Hope that helps! For an inexpensive field watch, I definitely recommend this one from MDC/Infantry!

Best field watch for the price
The watch will display the day of the week in English or Spanish, but unlike similar watches sold on Amazon, it comes with clear instructions to let you choose the language. I don’t like NATO straps and the spring bars for the straps were impossible to remove without cutting away (use diagonal flush cutting pliers), which is the only reason for the 4 star rating, else it would be 5. I put a silicone quick release band on the watch and am very happy with it. The time is very legible, especially with the red highlight on the second hand. I like the 3D effect that shows between the minutes dial and the inner face. Very handsome/gorgeous and no-frills watch. You just can’t do better than this for the price.

Nice field watch for the money
This is a nice field watch for $22. The black and white dial is very easy to read and it comes with a black 22mm NATO watch strap, which can easily be swapped out for a different color. The quality seems to be in line with a Timex Expedition watch costing $50-$60.

You get what you paid for. But sometimes you get a lot More!
The MDC 12/24 Hour Military Wrist Watch, with Date and Day ostensibly is an homage to the old military issue watches of the WWII era. At this price point my expectations for look, style, performance, durability were not very high. I was pleasantly surprised! The watch comes in a small black slender box within a sleeve, protected by felt cushion cut out in the shape of the watch. Immediately, what I term a "utilitarian elegance" jumped out at me. Very handsome and durable look that hints of delicate handling but is hefty and rugged. It is a minimalist watch with simple but lasting durability and precision. I've worn the watch for over a week, and though this is not a great deal of time nor is this a comprehensive review, I've so far come away with the impression that with the MDC you are getting more than you paid for. Keeps great time and if you should ding it or scratch it, you wont feel guilty considering the price point. In fact, I am so impressed with this time piece that I bought a total of three (one in each color offered).

Battery impossible to change
Had this watch for 3 years, then stopped working. Okay, just change the battery. Well, there is a good reason there is no indication of what battery it uses on the back of the case. It does not appear that it was every considered that anyone would want to replace the battery. I made a special steel spanner wrench to open the watch. After struggling for over an hour with as much force as I could muster, I was unable to break the seal and open the watch. In a last-ditch effort, I took a steel point punch and hammer to the tabs to just attempt to break the seal. That failed. My efforts complement a bunch of other reviewers who tried to change the battery. I too would describe this as a throw-away watch after approximately 3 years. Must have been threaded in using a permanent Loctite, or an equivalent sealer. Longevity be damned.

Superb Value
I've collected watches of all types for more than 40 years, and this watch is an incredible bargain. Materials are excellent -- stainless steel case and back, mineral crystal, solid quartz movement. 50M WR is more than adequate for everyday use -- if you plan do go diving, use a watch designed for that. Dial and hands are standard military Type II field watch design, easy to read even in poor lighting. The watch is relatively light (remember, this a 40mm stainless steel case). Strap width of 22mm is actually rare for a 40mm watch and gives it better support. The black NATO strap is excellent and would easily cost half the price of the watch on Amazon. All this for about $25; how can you go wrong?
