The design is one of the best on the market
bought this a few months ago. Its been running non-stop since i got it up and running. 100's of hours without ANY issues. The design is one of the best on the market. Very simple, strong stepper motors and a build volume large enough to print almost anything you need. I've run mostly PLA including the wood filament with amazing results. As with any of the complex electromechanical devices you need to care for it. Oil the tracks and keep the belts tight. i simply couldn't be happier with this printer. love it!

Nice printer but printrbot has some quality control issues
Nice printer but printrbot has some quality control issues. First one I received had stripped screws, second one I've received has a heated bed issue that won't turn off, and heats up when machine turns on. I'm giving this printer a third shot with my third replacement, if it still has issues I will be looking at other printers.

Great 3D Printer
I have been using a Makerbot Replicator 2X for some time now. But, the Printerbot Plus 1504 blows it out of the water in print performance and quality. I highly recommend this model. I am also glad that I chose the Plus model over the Simple for the extra print volume.

Solid design
Great Printer! Solid design. Printed out of the box, no experience on my part (aside from watching a friend print once on a Play). I've used the printer for three months. The little brother of this printer is used in schools. I primarily print in PLA. This printer can print wood filament.

I've had this item for about a year and have been using it for the past 6 months. The amount of problems and tinkering involved with this machine are way too high for its price point. I'm getting something else for my next purchase.

Awesome machine for the right price
Awesome machine for the right price. They are super helpful with repairs and parts if you need them. I've got about 150 hours of run time and I've only had to clear the nozzle once. Super reliable, straightforward machine for abs and pla work.

I would pass on this printer for others in the price range.
Item arrived with several problems indicating i received someone else's return or this item was put together by a child. The Z axis was uneven(had to adjust with calipers),The heat shielding is applied wrong and not snug, The motherboard was dead, AND there was 2 screws at the bottom completely stripped. All this indicates someone most likely received this thing before me corrupted the board before even getting a print out of it and sent it back to amazon which in turn they sold to me as a new item. I managed to fix all of this nearly and get it going but there is still noises present when printing that aren't supposed to be there(grinding and rattling). I really hope this doesn't have to resort to a chargeback with My CC company(amazon did a partial refund but thats not going to work for how bad this is) I requested a replacement but have not heard back from amazon aswell. If amazon can't honor their policies and get me a new replacement ill have to go forward with a chargeback and keep this thing and hope for the best. The amount of trouble this has been isnt worth anywhere close to as little as the partial refund was. Here is a thread on a 3D printing forum i posted on with other people collaborating that they have had very similar issues to mine out of Printrbot and Amazon.https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/3o0tlp/this_is_how_my_printrbot_plus_arrived_missing/These things are also fairly heavy so im having to get my son to help me with it and i've had to pay him for his time hes spent trying to get the machine right.HERE is also another story someone posted on my thread on reddit detailing how amazon sent them a refurbished item as new.https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/3hs0mq/robo_3d_r1_vs_r1_plus/cuac4ml

It worked great for a while
Had it a little less than a year and the extruder motor started going bad. Got a replacement from their website and installed a new one. Printer worked great again. A little later went to print something and the autolevel probe failed causing the hot end to crash into the print bed thus breaking one of the Z motors. I am not even going to bother fixing it again. I am going to salvage the working motors and toss the rest. Otherwise the stuff it made was flawless and had very little imperfections. Unfortunately the hardware was a little too unreliable on my end. $1200 is a lot of money so if you are considering a 3d printer there are a lot of options out there so do your research.
