These tape dispensers are invaluable when trying to move but so many of them jam easily causing wasted tape and frustration. This is the best of the lot. Easy to hold. Has large pressure bar so tape stays straight. More expensive than most but worth the extra money.

I am surprised that I am motivated to sit down and write this review for a "tape gun" aka dispenser. But because this unit is so well designed I feel compelled to do so. After reading all of the 5 star reviews for the Scotch H180 I decided to try one of each and use one at the house and one at my warehouse.This unit is better than the Scotch H180 for 4 main reasons:1) Cost - the Scotch model costs $5.43 more than this one. And this unit is the better by far.2) This model has a blade guard that snaps over the razor sharp blade when not in use.3) The hub brake (and most of the frame) is all metal. Will last longer than plastic.4) The metal shield locks down when loading a new roll so you don't feel like you need a 3rd hand. The shield on the Scotch dispenser wants to spring back while you are trying to route the tape on the path. Very annoying.Otherwise both units are extremely easy to use and well made. But if you only need one tape gun, trust me, this should be it. I am astonished at how much better one tape dispenser can operate over another. It's a joy to use.

To clarify the tape gun is solid, great grip and easy on the wrist. The part that broke is the tape pusher part, under normal warehouse / shipping use. Daily use in packing 100 + boxes, seems to be a bit too much for the tape pusher. This tape gun is all heavy duty except for the one part, it is still usable just have to push tape down by hand. Would suggest buying replacement pushers if prompted at purchase.

We purchased the item while moving and used it to box up our house items. It works fantastic especially when you only have two hands and you're trying to tape a box together the product does this for you with one of your hands easily. the only thing I would recommend is using the brand Scotch tape. the cheaper tapes do not work well with the product and they do not stick well to the boxes and they do not cut well.

All metal construction where it counts. In particular the tension wheel and mechanism. Don't buy any tape gun that has a plastic tension wheel. Spend the extra 10 bucks and buy this one. You won't be disappointed.

We wrap odd shaped packages for hours a couple of days a week at a non-profit. We got this dispenser hoping it would be smoother and easier to use than the dispensers the organization has. Bingo! We were delighted. Tape comes off easily, no fighting the machine, no spurts and jerks. The roll stays on the dispenser. The tape used by the organization is slightly thicker than the tape that came with the dispenser, so we are hoping there will be no disruption in function when we switch tapes. But so far we are very pleased.

Item has been used before didn’t order a used dispenser, tape that comes with it is really bad , otherwise I give it 5 stars for how well it worksWay better then the older style where the tapeIs always getting stuck on the Metal plate.
