AmeriBag Esopus Shoulder Bag

I was shopping for a new AmeriBag Healthy Back bag in black microfiber. I saw this little bag, also by AmeriBag, looked at the measurements and assumed they were a typo. I ordered anyhow, because as much as I love AmeriBag's Healthy Back bag it doesn't go with every outfit. Besides, I could return it. Right? When this bag arrived I was peeved to discover the listed measurements were pretty much correct. A little girl's purse?But, oh, my ... I love it! Look at the picture of the bag while I take you on a tour ...First unzip the flap. We will get to the bottom zipper later. With the flap open, right away you see it is not a child's toy. The inside of the bag has AmeriBag's signature silver lining so you can see everything in it.The open flap has a side-entry translucent pocket where you may put your driver's license and possibly a credit card right behind it. Below, at the bottom of the inside of the flap is a mesh pocket, the width of the flap, with a zipper. A good place to put money -- bills and change. Looking now at the whole bag on the inside I notice that there is an attached key fob, as well as many storage pockets of varying shapes and sizes. There are two open pockets on the back of the inside of the bag. Running across the front of those pockets are two wide strips of elastic, strong enough to hold just about anything in place. On either side of the inside of the bag there are two cone-shaped pockets -- one of mesh, the other of the same silver lining. Oh, wait -- turn the bag around and look inside of the front of the bag near the bottom. Another zippered pocket! There also is space in the middle of the bag for my cell phone (Blackberry Z10).A heavy grosgrain covers the otherwise raw edges of all the fabrics -- mesh, silver lining and microfiber. The outside zippered pocket, on the front of the bag near the bottom might be perfect for a small pair of reading glasses. It also has a very long, but adjustable, detachable microfiber shoulder strap and a fixed handle, also of microfiber, on the top of the flap where it becomes the top of the bag when the flap is zipped closedThe only place that the workmanship is a little sloppy is where the two pockets are stitched to the inside back of the bag.I wish ... the shoulder strap had something on it to keep the bag from slipping off my shoulder ... there was a hook-and-loop fastener to keep the open edge of the translucent pocket closed. Otherwise, practically perfect!It is unlikely that this cute little bag will become an everyday bag for me -- but who knows? It certainly carries just about everything I need. This bag is the "Tiny House" of bags. I hope you love it, too!

I am a big fan of AmeriBags and they make an excellent, durable product. This bag is no exception. Overall, the structure of the bag is wonderful - lots of (small) pockets, good zippers, great fabric. What is important to note is that this bag is TINY - I mean, super tiny. Seriously, I have wallets bigger than this bag. The handle at the top of the bag - I can barely get three fingers through it, never mind my entire hand to hold it comfortably. The removable strap is very, very thin. This would be an excellent bag to attach to a belt, that's how small it is. I think you could comfortably fit a modest key ring, a few credit cards, some cash, some lip balm, and a small cell phone in it - that's it. It's a good bag and in line with the quality of other AmeriBag products, just be prepared for its diminutive stature!

This is a small bag - which is what I wanted. However, it is not convenient to open when hanging on your shoulder (cross body). If the zipper were across the top, it would be just about perfect. It hold a small money/card holder, cell phone, tissue, lipstick, and keys. Not much more! It is a great little bag and certainly well made. It is just hard to open without everything falling out unless you lay it flat.

It’s exactly the size I was looking for. I’m a little worried by the thin fabric but so far it’s holding up well. It would help if the pockets inside were a little stiffer to allow my cell phone to go in easier.

This is a great little bag which holds way more than you think it could. I had one for several years and finally wore out the main zipper. I finally decided there was nothing else out there at the moment I wanted - just another of these. I do now use a wallet in it instead of just the pockets (it is easier for me to deal with). The bag is great because it can be casual or sort of dressy business. It fits great into another bag.P.S. that is my husband's 'handle' - he did not buy the bag!

A very nicely made article. Sturdy and easy to carry and access. The only thing I would change is the width. It won't quite hold a checkbook without having to force the checkbook into the main pocket. Otherwise worth the money. AJ

This is a great little bag. My first one lasted for years with heavy use. I use it for traveling and keep my phone, keys, boarding passes etc. Stops the hassle of always having to open my travel bags, When not traveling I use it for my phone for easy access. Highly recommend.

Perfect size little bag. This has numerous zipper pockets and a keychain clip to hold your keys. This will definitely be my little going out and about purse. There is room for a cell phone,keys,drivers license and cards. There is a main compartment with two side pockets and two back pockets. This is very functionable.
