I received really good quality sunflower seed, very clean, great size kernels. I used it in my 8 seed bird feeders . Every kind of songbird was loving that seed. We recently had a stretch of weather cold and wet for Georgia. From dawn to dusk I could glance at any of those feeders and not only would every perch and opening for seeds to be eaten be filled with birds but extra birds were sitting on the lids of the feeders and on the railings and branches close to any of the feeders waiting for their turn at the seed. From woodpeckers so big that it was hard for them to grip onto a perch to the tiniest little Wren or Finch they all loved the seed. For any that got spilled by the birds anytime there was a flock of the smaller birds that were cleaning up any of the little pieces on the ground. I had entire flocks of birds sitting outside windows all around my house so while I was working I could watch their cute antics and know they had enough food to stay warm in the very cold wet weather. And they went through all 50 pounds in 21 days it was that cold.

Flavor?!? I’m not a bird. I do not eat these seeds. However I did notice that they hatch moths from the moth eggs in the seed. This is common. You can kill the eggs by putting the sack in the freezer overnight. The birds love this seed and would probably eat the moths too but they hatch inside the bag While being stored. Then hundreds of moths inside the garage. I store 100 lbs at a time in a plastic garbage can in the garage and scoop it out as needed. This keeps the mice and rats out and the moths in. My wild birds are so happy. All small song birds in every color. Best by far for attracting small song birds but birds are messy feeders and drop half on the ground. Seeds on the ground attract every rodent far and wide and is like a giant soup kitchen for the poor, underemployed rats, mice, squirrels, and other larger unwanted guests. I put solar lights out there and they are on all night with a rat convention going on every night. I had to take them down. Every time I look out there I never saw a thing. Then, I bought a trail cam. I feared perhaps Bigfoot was out there. There weren’t any Big feet, only 4 footed creatures of all kinds and they brought the owls and hawks. It’s a zoo but the birds are happy.

Good price for the amount you get. Birds, and unfortunately, squirrels love this. I draw chickadees, woodpeckers (downy, hairy, red-bellied), Carolina wrens, cardinals, house finch, chickadees, blue jays, nuthatch, etc). MUST KEEP DRY or will mold up and be rendered worthless. I put water-proof caulking at BASE of trash can LID handles (small gaps where handles attach to lid let moisture in) to keep rain out of seeds. Not obvious, but open gap is there, so close that up before adding seed if that’s how you store it. Seems like good quality.

I bought two bags when the price had skyrocketed at the local Tractor Supply store. The birds love sunflower, to the point that they'll eat this until it's gone before they'll try anything else. This version is the "medium" chips, which are pretty small. I use them mainly in store-bought mesh style feeders. This size tends to fall through to a slight extent, so feeders with a solid bottom are best. One I have that is all mesh loses seed at a fair clip. The whole hearts size works better, but this will do until they're available again. The review form wants me to rate this product for warmth and thickness. "I'm sorry, Dave. I can't do that."

The 50 pound bag that I received was exactly as described. Our squirrels, small birds of sparrow size to larger bluejay size eat them with absolutely no problem at all. The 50 pound bag arrived in a cardboard box. It was a little beat up as you would expect but no loss of product. Shipping was fast for such a heavy item. I thought the price was a bit high because last year I bought a 50 pound bag locally for $58.00 plus tax however that store quit selling them. The bag that I received appeared to be a very fresh product. We have had no wasted or bad product to date and they are several months old, stored in our kitchen to reduce moisture getting to the seeds.

I have previously been purchasing sunflower seeds from retail stores but it is getting increasingly difficult to purchase in large bags. This product is great in that it is 100% sunflower kernels which is far less messy than seeds still in the shell. The price is good for the quantity and arrives in a very sturdy bag. This is my second order and plan on reordering from this company in the future. Birds love the seeds!

This is a great product and a very good price. The seeds were clean and of uniform size. My birds are very happy at the feeder. Shipping time was good also. I will keep ordering these sunflower seeds.

These seed hearts and chips were exactly what I wanted. My birds love them. Medium sized chips which attract the most species. An economical price. Perfect. HOWEVER, it was shipped (UPS ground) in a brown paper craft bag (no box) which for 50 pounds of bird seed is risky. The bag was covered 100% with tire marks and split all over. The rips in packaging were taped over with shipping tape but still significantly leaking seeds. Lost a fair amount of seeds in shipment and a mess on my floor.
