Easy to install and works great
Installation was fairly simple, just use the template. It seemed off at first but once I got it up on the door and used it then it made sense. I only used the tape, did not drill holes in my door or frame. Have been using this for a few weeks and it is great. Allows us easy access to the room and keeps the kids out but also keeps them from being able to close the door on their fingers. Added bonus, with how it operates keeping them from being able to close the door shows if they tried to get in when they are not supposed to. Also it auto locks when you close th door so you don't have to remember to lock it again after using the door. Exactly what we were looking for. Possibly update depending on how easy it is to remove when we finally need to and if it damages the door. Unsure yet how strong it is with just the tape if a kid hit the door with their full weight to open but just pulling on the door it will stop.

Work great. Highly recommend.
We got these for a storm door and another standard entrance door to keep the kiddos in away from road and pool. Just used the sticky tape that it comes with and they have lasted for months with some forceful pushing. Easy to install using template and you can adjust a bit depending on any space between frame and door. Just be sure to put in the unlocked position when not engaged as occasionally when you close the door they can drop over the hook and you need someone to let you back in the house. Really well designed and easy to use. Highly recommend.

Excellent safety item, but product description needs updating.
I got this item for my heavy, circa 1895 interior, shared hallway basement door, to keep my grandkids safe. It installs fairly easily, though I had a little bit of difficulty with the orientation at first. The only ‘negative’ about this item is the manufacturer’s claim that no tools are needed for installation. The bonding pads are secure enough, but for full and totally secure installation, five Philips head #1 screws need to be installed - one for the pivot wheel, and four to permanently, and securely attach the brackets to the jamb and door. You’ll also need an 1/8” drill bit for making pilot holes. The hardware is included, though it doesn’t specify that the one smaller screw of the five is for attaching the roller wheel. Color coding, or separate packaging on the roller wheel screw would have eliminated some confusion during installation. Functionality? It performs well, and keeps the door from being swung open more than an inch. It unlatches easily with a simple touch, and the defeat mechanism locks in place with a click, and a slide. There’s even a visual-aid in the form of red/green “Locked/Unlocked” icons on the sides of the main mechanism. I feel more secure having this on my basement door, knowing that my grandkids can’t swing open the door and suffer a fall on the basement steps. I installed it on a door with a right-hand knob, though it can be installed either left-opening, or right opening. There’s also a handy cardboard marking template included for placement during the installation. Despite the confusion about the simple tools required for a permanent installation, this is solid peace-of-mind in a 30-minute job.

Didn’t work for me.
Before you disregard this item, I bought it to add to a diy baby gate for the top of my stairs because all the other baby gates have latches that my kids(3 of them 4 and under) were able to figure out within minutes. This product would totally work if it was installed up high on a door where they could reach. Where I tried it, my son was able to reach right over the gate and undo it very easily. So I moved it to the upper part of a bathroom door and when I put it up and tried it it worked lovely. As I closed the door it latched itself. But then my 3 year old son came right along and opened the door(which also has one of those plastic ‘baby proof’ door handles) and the latch popped right off the door. I think it would have probably worked if I hadn’t already stuck it to something else which compromised the adhesive, making it weaker. It also comes with hardware so you have screw it into the door and door jam, but I don’t want to put holes into there so I’m just gonna trash that one. I did buy two more at the same time, so I will try a new one and see if the adhesive is strong enough to hold against my sons apparent super strength. As long as they can’t reach it and they don’t have anything they can push to the door and use as a step stool to reach it the latch should work fine. I’ve had to confiscate their toddler table because they mostly used it to reach things they weren’t supposed to have.

works as intended.
I purchased this door lock for my bedroom door as my 5 year old (autistic) does not know and understand boundaries and for the safety and piece of mind of knowing things in my room are now unreachable. Was easy to install I did it myself. This product has been easy to operate for myself and is out of reach of my child.

Would Have Loved to Use It
Mine arrived broken. One side of the lock/unlock tabs were broken, so it wouldn't latch correctly. But I placed up on my doorframe to see how well this would (or in this case wouldn't) work. I would... but this won't help me. And if I didn't need it 'now (to prevent my toddler from getting out of the house, since he figured out how to unlock the storm door... I'd probably order another.)Hopefully you'll have better luck.

Easiest childlock I've ever used
It was super easy to install, but I did need to screw it in and not just use adhesive. Very easy to operate the latch - can do it one-handed. It's much more sturdy than the other childlocks I've used and will definitely be able to last for several years.I'm using it to keep my cats apart, and it opens the door wide enough to let good airflow through, but not wide enough for either of them to squeeze through it. I have large cats, including a Maine Coon, so if you have a really small breed like a Siamese or kittens, it's probably going to leave the door open too far to keep the cats out.
