Perfect fit

I probably shouldn't be as excited as I am about this purchase, but I love it when things are EASY! This was a total plug and play part. Old gauge and pressure relief valve came right out of old lid and screwed right into this one. Popped it on and turned on the pump. Done! No Leaks, works perfect. I was a little concerned that it wasn't going to be the right size, because the numbers and stickers were worn away on my old lid, so I had nothing to go by. When the box arrived, it looked smaller than what I have, but it was just an illusion because it fit perfectly. I don't know if these lids are one size fits all or what, but this thing fit as if it came from the factory together.

I was about to give up, thought no way this was ever going to fit. Then I read some reviews saying to put the o-ring in hot water for awhile, and to lube the flange of the lid. After doing both, it popped right on. Perfect, and a lot less $ vs buying a new unit.

1st let me say when I ordered this, I was being told it was at least a week to two weeks before I would receive it. I had a pinhole leak coming straight out the top. Without asking or contacting seller, the replacement unit was at my door next day. So huge props to this seller. I have a pentair clean and clear unit that is so faded from the sun, I couldn't make out the part number but my measurements matched the ones in the description for this one. So I pulled the trigger even after reading other reviews that said the part didn't fit or due to aging the plastic is slightly deformed and you have to put this in hot water first. I experienced none of those issues. This new unit literally dropped in place and I was able to tighten it down with the locking ring. I plan to coat the top with a UV protect spray but suspect the chlorinated water is mostly to blame. My old unit has a 2015 date on it for what it's worth.

My 20+ year old lid cracked and couldn't be repaired. I bought this lid and it worked perfectly. I had to transfer my gauge and release valve from the old lid. I did notice that the lid was extremely tight to install. Not sure if this was because of the age of my old unit of mfg differences over the years. Long story short...no more leaks!
