With bad packaging, I could see someone losing the second refill very easily, forcing them to buy another package of 2. The refills last just as long as the initial pen ink that is provided when purchasing a Dr. Grip pen. On average I go through 1-2 refills in any given year, and I use this pen in my CPA practice every single day. No ink blotches, smears, mess, etc. Refill does its job.
