Sylvania 58327-50MR16/FL35/EXN/C 12V (EXN) MR16 Halogen Light Bulb 6-Pack

After six years the bulb that was installed when our house was built needed replacement. I looked at the printed specs on the bulb and it read "Germany", so I thought this would be a problem finding a replacement. To my delight, the bulbs that I purchased are perfect? Work great and the price was lower than the competitors!

Very bright light is great for inside closet. I can tell black from dark navy blue. Also feel safer because this halogen has a cover over the lens. Finally, this light replaced a virtually identical light that lasted eight years! If this one lasts nearly as long I will be very happy.

I’m not quite sure how to apply an accurate rating to this item. The item I ordered is Sylvania 58327. The item I received is Osram Decostar. My initial thought was this must be a ‘bait and switch’ scam. Upon further review, I found that Sylvania and Osram are related brands. Looks like some of the writing is in Russian or Hebrew. Amazon should ensure that the seller provides an accurate description for the products being sold on their site. Anyway, 6 bulbs for $13 is an outstanding value if they last the advertised 2,000 hours. Time will tell. For now, the bulbs work and they provide a nice bright glow in my kitchen pendant lights. I’d like to find similar bulbs in LED form, but so far have been unsuccessful. 5* for function, 5* for price, and 3* for misleading brand/description. Total rating is 4*.

Cost was great and these were quality Sylvania bulbs and perfectly matched what I had before. Highly recommended. Time will tell how long they last, but they are quality sylvania bulbs.

The bulbs arrived ahead of projected date, in good condition, and the first two are installed and operating correctly. These are for use in a track-light over the sink; they cast a nice bright light and it is good to have my lamps back in operation.

If you are stuck using old fashioned halogen light bulbs like these because of your fixture or old type of dimmer switch, these are a very cost effective choice. Be aware of the color - these are brighter than the warm light bulbs. I prefer this. Also, when used outside of an enclosed fixture as in track lighting, the sides of the bulb give off an off color light, kind of bluish/purple. I got used to it in a couple of days. Be careful with the dangerously pointed base - this type of based was abandoned years ago.I strongly recommend switching to LED lights when you can. You can now get dimmable ones if you install one of the new dimmers.
