Very nice fan for Makita 18v tool owners
I live in S Florida and summers in my garage are hot. I have a cheap ceiling fan that moves some air if you're directly underneath it, but it doesn't help anywhere else. So... the Makita fan. To the point, it is versatile, moves plenty of air, is lightweight, and is very adjustable. I've read the 1-star reviews but my experience has been 5-star. It can oscillate left and right, tilt up and down, run for a long time on a 5ah battery, and is light & portable. Honestly, it's a great value. Way, way better than the 18v vacuum that is pretty anemic and seriously over priced. This is a solid deal if you're looking for a shop fan.

Perfect for a fan on the go
I needed a fan to take with me while Im working craft shows and this one is perfect. Good size and easy to tote. Uses the Makita batteries that I use for other things so I was ready to go. Easy to use and blows a lot of air

Buy it
I was debating on buying one of these makita fans for years, I think the fact that there were so many different models scared me off a little bit, I didn't know which one to buy. Then my power went out the other day and it was 95 degrees and I was kicking myself big time. So I went ahead and ordered this one, and boy I love it. I have many makita tools and batteries, and this is just another example of makita greatness. Well built, great design. My 6 amp battery lasted about 5.5 hours on high, and about 5 of those minutes I had the oscillating feature on, so that probably hurt it a little bit. I'm very pleased with those results. It moves a lot of air for a fan that size, and it's reasonably quiet. Fans always make noise of course. No clicking or anything weird like other reviewers complained about just a gentle whir. I could sleep with it on no problem. Much more quiet than my window ac. Obviously I guess. Nothing to whine about whatsoever. So many different uses. Carry it around the house as you do chores, take it camping, the beach... it's awesome trust me

Helmet drier and life support device
I am a motorcycle roadracer in Texas. Life preservation at the racetrack has little to do with the motorcycles themselves. Especially not in a 4 hr endurance race. You first have to survive the heat!!1. There isn’t always powerat the track. Sometimesyes sometimes no. This unit is battery powered or can use the included ac adapter.2. I have a makita 18v tire inflator i use at the track. This uses the same batteries it does. Convenient.3. I have other makita shop tools that use the same batteries. (Just to emphasize strategic benefit).4. Fan rotates verticle so i can use it to dry helmets.5. Small enough to sit on my lap while i recover from riding in 100+ degree weather in the pits. The fan is small but this gets the air where it needs to be while I recover, chugging electrolytes waiting to go backout.6. Nice carry handle molded into the top of the fan. Easy transport.Complaints:1. The plastic base of the fan is large enough to give a large stable footprint. Would have been ideal if they used that space for a compartment to keep the ac adapter in so you don’t lose it or forget to take it with you.2. The product listing makes a claim how long this will run on the lowest setting. But they don’t say what size batterry gives this. Would be helpful if they state that with different batteries for reference. I have different tools and batteries. This fan comes without a battery. Would help estimate how long it works with the batteries i already have in my cordless drill for example.3. Sure would be great if the included AC adapter could be used to recharge the battery. Even if it was slower than my cordless drill charger. It could have having to transport extra tools. Wouldn’t that be nice!

This is exactly what I needed
This Makita is lightweight, rotates, has a cord but also uses one of my existing Makita batteries, puts out plenty of air for my small screened porch, and is, well, perfect! It was actually bigger than I expected and that was a pleasant surprise. The battery fits in and out easily. I've used it for about a hour and a half each time and the battery needed very little recharging. Am very glad that it also came with a cord and will probably use that going forward. It was so easy just to take this with me into the kitchen, and I got more cool air than depending on the ceiling fan in the next room. This will be much more versatile than I ever knew it would be. Am very glad I got it and highly recommend it.

Best fan I ever bought
I now have 2 of these. One is at work. So light, portable, adjustable, programmable and quiet. ....and I mean quiet.no clicking or whirring. Only the the sound of air moving .I leave it on for my dog who also loves it. The camo green was 10$ cheaper and it looks less like a tool in my house. It doesn't need a battery but I think it is more stable and weighted with a battery in the bottom. Some uneven surfaces are tricky without a flat battery bottom but that's not a deal breaker for me. Good job Makita!

Great air flow!
Living in Florida we have occasional loss of electricity for many reasons. This year I wanted a fan with a battery to take to the park etc.. well what a great investment! It has 3 speeds and rotates if I want it too. The other day we lost power at night. Got out my fan and had fallen back to sleep with this fan!

Strong and quiet!
Awesome fan! Very quiet, yet pushes a lot of air! Works well on the battery or if you plug it in!

Excellent Fan
This fan is wonderful and the three speed settings allow from a gentle breeze in a smaller space to a strong draught further away, it’s also relatively quiet on the high speed. Having the mains adapter as well as using batteries makes it versatile. Highly recommended.
