Easy install
Pretty easy install. You can find a video on YouTube that is a step by step walk through. For your main power I suggest just splicing into the 12 volt outlet in the back of the vehicle. 30 minute install. No complaints so far.

Makes wiring up for your trailer a snap
Connectors are very solid but the wiring is a little bit light gauge but is working well. I did find that you don’t have to wire the supply all the way to the battery you can simply pigtail into the 12 V power charger on the right rear of the Captiva.

YouTube video made this doable for me
Non-mechanically inclined, and even I was able to do this following the online YouTube video for my 2014 Chevy Captiva (used 2015 model video). As I don't own my own personal lift, running the wire underneath was a PITA for me. For folks about to get into this, I'd add the following pro tips. You need a T45 at one point in video. (a T40 worked for me, but I had literally just bought a new rachet set and by the grace of god it came with this). Go out, buy a good crimper, extra wire connectors (expect a few bad crimps), and 4-way trailer light tester. Walmart or your local hardware store should have all this stuff - I spent maybe $30 bucks on all the above and got an extra pack of zip ties as well (shopped at Meijer). The back side pockets were a bit of a pain for me to remove. Screw only loosens, does not come out. I sliced my wrist up pretty bad pushing up on those pockets. On both sides, when they popped out my wrist caught the crossbar above. To get the wire up through firewall I used a bright yellow guide wire. Was so easy to just push that down through the firewall from under the hood, then wrap the black wire to it from under the vehicle. When I pulled that guide wire up it brought the trailer light wire right with it. In all, I paid around $300 for everything to get my Captiva capable to tow. This included the mount, hitch, ball, this wire harness kit, and extra purchases. I'll bet I would have paid over 2 grand at a dealership. Huge savings and learned some things.

Fits the Captiva exactly
The Captiva is a lightweight SUV not really designed for towing, so the connectors aren't built in, which requires a little work to complete the hookup. That being said, the Curt kit has everything you need and the directions are very explicit. I know nothing about automotive wiring and was able to install the wiring harness with no trouble.
