Elton John: Fifty Years On: The Complete Guide to the Musical Genius of Elton John and Bernie Taupin

I like the way the songs were reviewed. My only gripe is some of the songs on individual albums were omitted.

I have been a fan of Elton John for over 45 years. He was my first musical crush. I know almost every song by heart, even if I do not listen daily, the words are still there. I played his records as a kid so much, my sister too loved him. His voice, passion and love of music is phenomenal.

Elton John is a musical treasure and has been for decades. This book gives a great summary of his musical career. I highly recommend it to others.

My nephew is an EJ die-hard fan so I thought this book would be a good bday present and boy, did he like the book!He devoured it in less than a week!Highly recommended

When I saw the subtitle to this, “the complete guide to the musical genius of Elton John” I thought this would be a book discussing the musical merit of Elton John’s vast catalog. Instead, it’s a flat, one-dimensional armchair interpretation of every song from every album. A basic analysis of each song providing virtually no insight into the songwriting. Incorrect info about song performances. Sourcing Wikipedia in many cases (often filled with inaccuracies).The second half of the book are inane essays written by a random assortment of authors that also provide nothing interesting in the way of musical analysis.Fans will be highly disappointed. Pick up Rocket Man: Elton John from A-Z if a thoroughly researched and deep dive into Elton’s catalog is desired.

not for the seasoned elton John fan who is looking for detailed information about elton and Bernies songs or recording info , this is simply no more than a manor fans giving opinions , I could do that myselfin my view this book is a complete waste of paper
