UAC CO 4918AC A/C Compressor

This product does what it's supposed to. It compresses well and blows out ice cubes in my 06 Civic. However, I am on my second unit as the first one made a low pitch whining noise (like wet fingers on a whine glass rim) on acceleration. It was the compressor because when I turned off the a/c, the noise stopped. The first unit made a lot of that whining noise, while the second unit not so much. I'm just hoping it's a bearing issue that will self-resolve.The compressor, condenser, and expansion valve were all changed together. PAG oil and proper r134a applied. Pressure levels were proper for both low and high side (old compressor had a valve issue and pressure was equal for both low and high sides).Overall, a pretty good replacement unit for the OEM compressor. Here's to hoping that this whining noise will go away with enough use.

Worked great. Removed the existing oil and added peg oil, Vacumm out the system, installled it and bam its works great. Been throwing cold air since it was installed about 3 months ago. Very satified. I watched a youtube video of a "How to Replaced an AC Compressor in your Car" by Chris Fix and a couple of other youtube videos and it help alot. Did purchase a vacumm pump. Well worth the purchase. A auto Shop wanted $620 to replace the compressor and charge the ac. I did it myslef in 2hrs. Most of it was waiting to see if my gauges would tell me if i had a leakage in my system. Luckly i didnt loose any vacumm pressure.

Installed on a 2008 Honda Civic sedan with 120,000 miles. It's been installed for 3 months and performs very well without problems. This was installed by local Honda dealer for just under $500.00 including evacuation and new freon. Also purchased Universal Air Conditioner RS 2563 A/C System Seal Kit - UAC.UPDATES:Fall 2017 working as expected. Next update in Spring/Summer 2018.2018 - Worked great throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall. Now over 155k miles.Holding out on last star to see where things are next summer ;-) 2019.

Seems like a quality unit. Big savings over OEM or other aftermarket units. My mechanic wanted to install a unit that cost about $350. I talked him into letting me bring this in and saved. No complaints so far. I was told the install was normal and it now blows cold as ice once again. Will see how long this unit lasts.

Very nice. I was a bit skeptical in ordering this item so I took a risk and there is no disappointment here. Product arrived well packed, and it appears all first class parts used. It has been installed for over a month now with absolutely no problems. It was an easy swap as both old and new parts were exactly the same. All the right wire harnesses were in place. Just flush the old oil add new oil. Really good buy

Had my a/c system die on me and ordered this And other parts, it came quickly! After installation, I am happy to say that it fit perfectly and works as it should! The only thing left is to test its durability, which we’ll see with time!

Loud but works well and is much cheaper, make sure you buy really high quality refrigerant not the cheap stuff from wally world.

Working good so far. Cold air.. Had to use original mourning bolts, and one of the original screws as the one that came in the package did not fit. Not a big issue as I still had the original from the old compressor.

This compressor doesn’t work. I had my mechanic install it and he said it’s not working and that I should have it returned for a refund. It’s very unfortunate because something like an AC compressor is difficult to install and costs a lot. It’s only until it’s installed if you can tell if it works or not. Brand new AC compressor and it doesn’t work and Amazon won’t let me get a refund because too much time has passed. I would not buy from them.
