Making Things Right, Revised

Wrong age group
I bought this to use with my 2nd grade CCD class, but I'm afraid it may be a bit too advanced for them. It's not something I can read during a classtime. It will probably be a good resource to give me the right language to reach the children on various different subjects. However, I think it is more suitable for children over 8 years old, even though the back cover states it is recommended for ages 8-12. Or maybe as a good reader for a child with his/her parents.I do like that it has a Study Guide in the back with questions for each chapter to prompt further discussion with children.

It's OK
A bit hokey. yes, it covers doctrine, but the cartoons, while appealing to some, don't convey the reverence this Sacrament deserves. Maybe that's the point to make the sacrament accesible to everyone, just not my style.

Nice and easy to use
I used this to help my daughter prepare for first reconciliation and communion. Nice and easy to use. Easy for her to understand the lessons.

Confession explained simply.
Best book by far for explaining simply to children the effects of sin on themselves and others and receiving forgiveness through the sacrament of Reconciliation. Very good when working with children aged 7-9 and it has lots of activities in it. American in origin so has some references to their culture but this does not stop it being an excellent teaching aid/workbook. It has a removable section at the back for Parents/Catechists with excellent notes and guidelines for teaching children well about forgiveness (of self and others) and reconciliation. The parents like it too!

Best Reconciliation Preparation Book
This is by far the best Reconciliation Preparation book I have ever come across. It is a book with a compassionate approach to the Sacrament of Reconciliation. It pitches itself perfectly at the children's level. Both the text and the pictures are appealing. It starts with the children looking at themselves and seeing their goodness and love, working through how the Sacrament will help them and showing them what will happen when they receive the Sacrament.I would recommend this book to anyone preparing children for Reconciliation.

Great Catechists material
Perfect! Children really enjoy the work and plenty of pointers for Catechists.
