Warner LinearK2G20-12v-BR-18 B-Track K2 18" Stroke Length Rugged Duty Actuator

I used this to replace the hatch lift/actuator on my 2001 Sea Ray Sundancer 340. I didn't need to modify anything, as the stroke and length were the same as the original unit that came in the boat. This unit bolted in exactly as the original unit that was on the boat did.This unit came with a plastic connector which felt flimsy, so I cut it off and used my own marine grade but connectors to wire it to the boat.

i found these reviews and bought two to replace the flimsy original units. they had rusted and would trip the breaker almost every time. Since the breaker is in the bilge, i thought it was just a matter of time before i was completely screwed. I agree with the other reviews, much beefier and solid than the original, bolts right into bottom bracket and is the same size, extended length. I also replaced the connectors with heat shrink type. one part that gave me a lot of grief is the top connection. there are two unequal length tubes that connect the actuator to the underside of the engine hatch. because these replacements are so much stronger, these original extensions would not fit over the top cylinder. I would up purchasing stainless steel tube 1-1/4" diameter. Hard to fabricate but absolutely worth it. also, make sure you make the new extensions the exact same length. otherwise the hatch will not close completely. I also chickened out and had two 2x4 posts made to hold the hatch in place while i replaced the actuators. That thing is scary heavy. good luck to the next guy, you can do it.

My old hatch actuator was getting slow and eventually started blowing the 20Amp dash panel fuse - a web search turned up this unit as the "updated" version since Warner has been sold and the 1999/2000 unit is long obsolete. Replaced with this new unit and it now runs up and down without any trouble. If replacing the Searay 340DA 2000 installation, you will need the 5" extension on the end of the old unit, so do not discard that. I cut the supplied connector off and just used yellow shrink-tube butt connectors (boat wiring is larger than motor wiring so you could use step-down yellow/blue connectors but I just double the smaller guage over the larger and crimp them together on one side of the butt connector - then use a larger black shrinktube over that with a heat gun to wrap this up - then wire-tie and you're done with electricals. Easy install, 20 minutes upside down over the port engine to complete wiring and 10 minutes in the bilge for mechanicals - basically 3 bolts - sockets and end wrenches do fine. Helps to have an assistant to get the deck lid secured with rope and/or pole to keep it from closing when you remove the old unit - once you have the unit mounted and lower bolt installed, extension on the actuator, and wiring complete, you can have your helper engage the dash panel switch and run the new one to full extension and then put in the top bolt - then you're good to go. i purchased this unit March 2015 , to date its still going strong, used this to replace the original actuator in my 2005 Sea Ray 290 Sunsport. the dealer wanted around 1800 for the part. the actuator will bolt right up with no modification, i chose to paint it with cold galvanizing compound for some added corrosion resistance. I had a buddy that runs a machine shop fabricate me a little 3 inch extension at the end of the unit to lift the hatch a little higher, in hindsight it was not really needed, but you should be careful when you close the hatch ( once the hatch is down give it one more second and release ) because if this unit FULLY closes it would probably rip the mounting points.

I looked all over for a replacement lift for my Sea Ray boat engine compartment lift (I even checked with Warner Linear and Sea Ray boats) but was unable to find the correct lift until I found it on Amazon.com! It exceeds the original lift specs,and installation was easy with a simple 2-bolt and plug-in wire connection.It works perfectly! Thank you Amazon.
