Great Product
When I first got my hair cut into a faux hawk, my barber kept using Woody's Web and I liked it way better than the Axe Messy Look paste I'd been using when I had a quiff. For comparison, the Axe was good for adding some texture to longer hair with a very light hold. The Woody's smelled good, added texture, but then also gave me a bunch more hold and styling capabilities. I liked it so much that I switched after a couple of barber visits because the difference was undeniable. One tin will last you a long time! I bought mine back in Sept. 2016 and am nearing the end now, but still probably have another couple of months left. Granted, I don't apply Woody's every day, only after I wash my hair, which is once or twice a week. For application, my recommendation is to not try to get the entire dose of wax in at once, but to add it in steps. This helps with even distribution. As other people have said, put a dollop in your palm and rub your hands together to warm the wax, then start from the back of your head forward, rubbing it in all over. If you put it on with wet hair and leave it, it will result in a wet look. I personally lightly wet my hair (like get hands wet, run through hair), before applying, as I find it a lot easier to distribute the product, plus I avoid the gel-like wet look. The smell is nice, it's not overpowering or unpleasant as some reviews state. Not sure how to describe the smell, but it's mellow, I'd say it's unisex bordering on masculine, and honestly, it's not that noticeable once it's in your hair. Someone would have to have their nose close to you to smell it, and the fragrance fades in time. It's not really a complaint, I just ordered another tin of Woody's (this time trying Mold It), so I'm quite happy... Just an observation.. but I will say that I've noticed that over the 2+ years I've had the tin, the product has changed, which is understandable given the amount of time and that it contains some natural ingredients. The top layer turns a bit darker where it's oxidized, and the wax itself has become clumpier in my hair, sort of resembling dandruff. Time for a new tin. :)

Good Stuff
I have unruly hair and when I'm traveling on business I need to present a clean cut and professional appearance. My hair is thick and worn in a "military taper", 3-4" long on top with a 3/2 clipper fade on the sides and back. Woody's holds it where it needs to be all day and only with a small amount of product (a container lasts me several months). Rub a dime to nickel size amount between your hands and work it through semi-dry hair from back to front, comb it where you want it and go. It will take it a few minutes to "set" but once its there it will stay, the more water you add or the wetter your hair the longer it will take. I prefer unscented products but they are rare, this one smells good, what I consider a light masculine scent, and it fades over time.

low maintenance husband loved it
my husband purchased this for himself. LOVES IT. It holds his hair in place while not giving it that hardened/tacky/wet look. has not made a comment about the smell so must be a mild smell. made styling his hair easy and quick.

Does exactly what it promises, and nothing more.
Completely satisfactory. Smell is mild; I would like a stronger scent for a product such as this, but no complaints.

Oh my god this stuff is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow I love this stuff! My barber used some the last time I got a haircut and it made my hair look so great! For most of my adult life (I'm 28) I've alternated between a buzz cut and the short on the sides, little longer on the top look that most guys have. But about a year ago I wanted to change to a more traditional yet contemporary side part and swept over hair cut. (Think Ryan Gosling, David Beckham, etc.) Since then I've been trying to find a product that would keep my hair in place with a little bit of a shine but that wouldn't make my hair look wet, clumpy, slick, stringy, funky, or any other adjective that you'd use to describe the effect that the other hair different products I had tried had done to my hair. I'd tried 10-12 balms, rubs, texturizing pastes, waxes, etc. and none had given me the look I was going for. This stuff holds well but you can still run your fingers through your hair. It gives a little sheen without making your hair look slick. Plus the part I love best is that it gives me hair a little body and thickness. This stuff works so well I suggest if you're here reading the reviews you AT LEAST GIVE IT A TRY. My only knock on this product is the smell. It's got kind of a caramel smell to it and as a guy I try to steer clear of sweet smelling products. But once it's worked in the smell isn't overpowering or anything. FYI my hair is dirty blonde, medium length on top (about 2-3 inches long)

This is a really great product. It gives my hair a firm yet ...
This is a really great product. It gives my hair a firm yet very pliable hold that lasts pretty much all day. It provides a nice texture without looking too shiny or oily. I use it for a sideparted or quiff, short on the sides and long on the top kind of haircut. I can comb or blowdry this product in pretty well.

Close that jar after you're done...
Only use this nowadays. The silk fibroin gives my hair that natural shine and it's not too sticky. Perfect look every time. The only issue is when you leave the cap open, the product gets oxidized and becomes hard and lumpy. Then it takes more time to brush out or spread the product over my hair. Still a great find. And to think I never knew about it until I opened a Woody's pink underwear/shampoo/web combo pack for Christmas a few years ago.

Greasy
Goes on hair, great for a pretty good hold. Smells ok. But makes your face really oily which can lead to break outs. I now use Paul Michell green tea extract
