Essential Oils: God’s Extravagant Provision for Your Health

There was some information contained in this book that I didn't know before, for which I am grateful. But I was very disappointed when the author mentioned oils that come from endangered plants, according to CITES, (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora). CITES is an international agreement between governments which aims to ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival. NO ethical company should be selling those oils. In fact, Young Living doesn't use the oils rosewood and spikenard which is mentioned in this book because of that very reason*. If you find a company that does use those oils either as singles or in blends, don't buy if you care anything about endangered plant species. *Please note that when Young Living found out that Rosewood and Spikenard were endangered species they removed Spikenard from the one collection it was part of and reformulated blends that contained rosewood. In 2014, Young Living discovered that rouge employees were harvesting rosewood and spikenard and did an internal investigation; they reported themselves to the Justice Department in 2015. They worked with the Justice Department to come up with a Lacey Act Compliance Plan suitable to the government, and pled guilty in 2017 and paid a fine (which is the norm in these cases). The fact is that other essential oil companies are currently selling rosewood and spikenard.

My Thoughts on Essential Oils:I love that this book is from the perspective of a believer and using Essential Oils for healing.I am a firm believer in using essential oils to help heal our bodies and that they are given to us from God just like the herbs are. In our house, we also use modern medicine when needed though as God gave us that as well.This book is so chock full of knowledge. It has gorgeous color images and is one of those books you’re going to come back to over and over again. I highly recommend you get a print copy of this one.Choose a high-quality oil brand, grab the essential oils mentioned as your starter set and get ready to be amazed! Already use oils? First, I absolutely LOVE this book by Teri Secrest! Not only is it an informative reference, it also includes recipes, the historical impact of essential oils, and ways to incorporate these amazing gifts from God on the 3rd day of creation into your everyday lives.I was impressed with the color photographs, the ancient quotes, as well as the durability of the hardcover, which will help preserve these precious pages while using it all over the house! This book is chocked full of information that can literally be used in every room, including the kitchen and bedroom!!!Thank you, Teri Secrest for creating this valuable tool for truly everyone, whether a brand new beginner in the use of essential oils, or a seasoned veteran. This book is loaded with information for all. There is no reason to ever feel overwhelmed when learning about essential oils, as this resource quite literally has you covered!

I highly recommend this book. It is great book that will help anyone who is looking for wisdom about health and healing and living a life full of joy. Teri Secrest does a great job of using her life experiences to illustrate the value and potential of essential oils, along with the principles of healthy living. It is a very fun and easy book to read and enjoy - don’t miss it! It is essential reading! :)

Teri Secrest is the real deal. She has lived this natural, organic, therapeutic grade oils life for about 25 years! The book is full of wisdom -that can help everyone live healthier life. Excellent book! I highly recommend getting it, reading it and sharing it with others, especially if you are Christian and want to take care of your body, mind and soul properly.

This book is well thought out and well written. I couldn't put it down. It reads more like a novel than a scientific book. I loved all of the photos and that the book is hardbound. It has so much great information and stories in it as well as a little "how-to" section in Chapter 6. I highly recommend it!

I highly recommend this book. It is well written. Easy to read. The author is knowledgeable and explains in detail the biblical perspective of oils in a story format. I liked the book so much that I purchased it for 2 other friends.

It doesn't have as much information as I expected but is a good book, I recommended to people that like to know more about essential oils, is a different perspective of Essential Oils.
