Starrett Dovetail Body Clamp for 708, 709, & 811 Series Test Indicators - 3/16" Rod Diameter - PT22429

This attachment replaces one I sold off when I retired from industrial maintenance. I always know I can depend on Starrett for great American made performance. What’s not to like?

This Starrett Dovetail Body Clamp is very good the shank yes is quiet small in diameter but it does the job very well I also like the fact that once you have tightened up the shank to indicate the swivel ball isn't too tight if you should want to adjust it's position you can make a fine adjustment without the fear upsetting your set up al together. I would recommend this one to anyone in need of a quality Dovetail Body Clamp

I'm giving this three, not 5 or none, because it didn't work well for what I bought it for. That being said, it is obviously well constructed, and fairly adjustable. Bought to indicate off witnesses using a Haas VMC and the shank isn't long enough to grab onto the indicator and still be able to read the face. I'm sure it will have it's use, just dont buy this to do what i wanted to.

Doesn’t come apart if you over tighten. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for.

A lot smaller than I was expecting. The stem is only about 2" long. Quality seemed ok, not great. was hoping for it to be slightly more impressive. That's why I played a few extra bucks for the Starrett name. Lesson learned**edit**It's kinda junky. It doesn't hold very well. The spring on my Starrett test indicator is stronger than this. Pushes my indicator away from the part that I am dialing in. Pointless.
