Review: An alternate version of Monster High, as good as the series - For anyone who is a fan of the dolls or/and the animated shorts series & cgi movies this collection is a must. Presented in a slightly altered Monster High universe with a slightly different outlook on normies versus monsters it's a refreshing change. All your favourite characters are there, eventually. It sometimes takes time for them to show up (or for you to realize they've been there all the time, just hidden) but close to the whole main cast and some you've never seen before make an entrance. The story itself diverges from what we're all used to but not in a way that hurts or damages our memories of what's come before. Rather, it shows our favourite ghouls and their friends, living, dead and undecided from angles we've never seen before, reading their thoughts, hopes and dreams as well as their fears and nightmares. Initially I thought each book was completely self contained, which is mostly true as each covers a specific event or series of events in their world and they could be easily read by themselves, however there is an ongoing storyline that continues from book to book so reading each in order rewards the reader for their efforts. Suffice to say, after the events in all these books, their whole world will never be the same again, for monsters OR normies!
