You need more expertise than me
I've been working with "PC"s since before they were called that, but this item had me stumped. It installed simply and worked exactly as promised -- at first. Then, after a week, all of the ports, except the USB 2.0 port, stopped working. The cards clicked in, the green light came on, but no cards were visible on the PC screen. I emailed Logisys for suggestions. They had none but offered to replace the product.I installed the replacement Card Reader and found that, this time, all of the ports were working EXCEPT the USB 2.0 port. I didn't really need another one of those, so I was satisfied to keep it - at first.Later, I got back from dinner to find that not only was the card reader's USB 2.0 port dead, but now the two standard USB 2.0 ports on the front of the workstation were also dead. Next, a DVD burner connected to a rear USB 2.0 port started to get flakey - Windows reported it was CD Drive, and could neither read nor write a DVD! Other USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 devices plugged into the rear of the workstation seemed to be doing fine.Long story short - I unplugged the Card Reader, and everything went back to normal. In the Feedback section here, I see someone warning against doing this kind of upgrade for fear of dire consequences. I wouldn't go that far: installation was simple, there were no misunderstandings, the manufacturer replaced it without question, but I just couldn't make it work right! Most important, no harm was done. When I unplugged the Card Reader everything went back to normal.I don't think the product is at fault, but maybe there is some compatibility problem beyond my current expertise. I'm keeping it and some day, when I have a quiet hour, I'll play around with it some more but, until then, it's back to using a portable card reader.

Perfect 10/10
I repair computers, Works and installs perfectly. As for the person who gave low rating, all computer towers are different. Logisys did no put the screw holes in the wrong place... the tower was not built with holes for this item. How to fix... drill new holes for the position you need to put it. My tower works perfect with this item as will all.Installs easy and works perfect. the drivers installed within seconds.

Not perfect, but it works!
I've owned one of these for nearly two years (purchased from a different website), and it's been working great, until now. It basically doesn't know that a card has been inserted, and Windows is throwing me a code 43 error within Device Manager. Prior to this, though, the card reader worked perfectly. The only cons that I could think of is that the red power light is on all the time, and that you have to insert your cards upside-down. They weren't a big deal for me, though.

How'd they miss that?
This product installs easy, fits well and works well, HOWEVER there was one very annoyingthing about the one I purchased: you have to put the cards in upside-down! (side with writing facing down)It's counter intuitive. This could be a minor point to some and a major point to others. What were the design engineers thinking? I gave it a 1 star because something that obvious is pretty much an instant fail.
