Obviously, I'm thinking it'll be the same thing just bigger square footage NOPE!!The pics show it's the same. The smaller rug feels like heaven on your feet THIS one like my hard floor has fuzzOn the second pic you can actually see the backingIt's nice to look at but I got it for the comfort and I certainly didn't find it :(

Cheap and thin. This is NOT the plush version!
If you are looking for that really nice, thick, soft, plush rug that you saw at one of your local big box stores under the Safavieh name, this IS NOT IT! This rug is thin with a scraggly pile that can barely stand up under it's own weight. This cheap version is the "Dallas" series with a "SDG" part number. The rug you REALLY want is the "SGH" model number "Hudson" series. The other big clue is to look for how much the product weighs. A cheap 8x10 area rug only weighs 30 or 40 pounds; light enough for even a child to carry. A quality, high pile, ultra-plush rug of the same size will be a monster requiring at least two people to carry it, with maybe a third person in the middle for extra support. Don't be fooled by this cheap version. It might look good in the photos (or for staging a model home for photos), but it won't last.

Perfect rug, perfect price.
I have been rug shopping for several weeks and I wanted this rug so bad, but I couldn't afford to spend the $300+ dollars that most websites charge for this product. I never even considered buying a rug from Amazon (although I purchase almost everything else here) but I jumped on one day and just thought I would look. I was so excited when I found this and let me tell you, I am so thankful I purchased. The rug arrived in about 4 days (prime plus a couple of days for getting it out) and it was wrapped really well and very protected. I rolled it out and fell in love. It's a BEAUTIFUL rug, very soft, and just the right pile height. I got new floors and new furniture and it goes perfectly. This is a fantastic product and I would highly recommend it.

Bummer
I am really bummed about this rug! My sister bought a shag rug from Safavieh recently and it is super plush and amazing under your feet. So I of course wanted the same. I found this rug and was super excited because they had the color I’ve been looking for. My dog is disabled and it is important he has a soft rug to lay on in the family room (when he doesn’t want to lay on his bed). Unfortunately this rug is hard, thin, flat, and the backing shows by just placing your hand on it. I’m only giving it two stars because of the color.

Not seafoam
I have never written a review before yet I have felt compelled to write this one. I ordered this rug believing it was seafoam and ivory yet I received a blue and ivory rug which isn't even an option when ordering. I would most definitely send it back, because of the color, if it wasn't such a huge return. It is also very thin so I have had to buy a pad to go under it. If I wanted blue and ivory it would be a beautiful rug yet that wasn't the color I wanted for my family room. Now I must work my entire color scheme over. Pretty upset about this.

This is not Seafoam. It is light blue.
I bought this same brand three years ago in the shag in gray and white. I've been very happy with them. I thought I would change out, and my décor is seafoam, gray, and white. I was thrilled to find seafoam. BUT, this is definitely not seafoam. There IS NOT even a hint of green. Seafoam is a blue green. Light blue is light blue. Needless to say, the light blue just didn't work. I have seafoam quatrefoil pattern seafoam drapes, and the rug CLASHED so much. Thankfully, I had not pulled up the gray and white ones. I bought the smallest in the blue along with the two 9 x 12s, so thankfully, I only had to unroll the little one to see it was wrong. Honestly, I believed, because they called it seafoam, that it was truly that, but it wasn't. So, had to return them. Thankfully OVERSTOCK, who now sells on Amazon, did approve the return the next day or so.I also have to add that these, although the same brand as my other ones, were not as soft or thick. The shag part felt kind of stiff, and it was definitely not as thick. I didn't have to use pads on my first ones, but these would need pads to make them comfortable to walk on. This is also not soft enough for a little one, so don't buy for a baby to play on. I imagine they would hold up well though because of the texture.

Perfect!
For the price, this rug can't be beat. We bought 2 runners and a 6x9 for our living room and couldn't be happier. They are super stylish and, so far, very durable. We have 5 kids, a dog and a cat and we were slightly worried about how these would hold up. It's been a month now and they are holding up well to high traffic amd daily vacuuming. We've had a few spills and they were easily cleaned up without any staining. There is no padding so it's not very cushiony, but we weren't expecting it to be. We did buy some non-slip pads to go underneath to keep the rugs from sliding on our hardwood floors.

Difference in quality between the different colors
I have been purchasing a rug or two a year for the past seven years since I started living with dogs, and I've tried a variety of brands and styles of rugs and found that I really liked the slate blue/ivory rug from Safavieh. I recently moved and decided to try a lighter shade and went with the seafoam color instead. The color is fine, but the quality is significantly lower than the slate blue. It's half as thick and half as dense, so it actually feels like there is only 25% of the quantity of fiber in the seafoam rug compared to the slate blue. The slate blue is plushy and soft and comfortable, but the slate blue is flat/limp and not soft at all. Kind of like those terrier dogs with wiry hair that look like they just came out of the carwash. It's way too much of a hassle to return (8'x10')--especially since I cycle through them in less than a year--but I would not recommend this rug at all. However, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this rug in the slate blue color because you get twice the plush and twice the softness.
