The center of the pillow has a recess that supports and raises the head during sleep enough to align the neck and spine to prevent any squeezing or compression. This pillow is perfect and is the perfect height for the cut in all the right positions.

I ordered this pillow because the design looks to proceed proper neck super for side and back sleepers (me). I'm 5"8, 160 lbs and most pillows tend to be too high for me while sleeping on my back. I'm not trying to wake up in the AM as a hunchback!!!Price was right so I figured this one was worth a try.Upon arrival, it unpacked from it's vacuum roll easily and had no odor. The carrying case came in handy too (see below).Initial impression was that it was too tall for me but I have it a go for a couple nights to see if it would see in after warming up. NOPE!So I put the pillow back in it's carrying case on my garage floor. Covered it with a thick piece is plywood and parked my 4500 lb car with the directly on top of it for about 8 hours. Unfortunately, that did nothing but show me how durable the pillow was.Another night of sleep on it and it was time get serious! Took the pillow case off, opened up one end of the thin fabric layer that covered the actual memory foam about half way and squeezed the pillow out. Drew some lines on the foam with a sharpie and starting cutting it with a long bread knife. I took it down about 3/4" on the sides and 1" in the middle for back sleeping. See pictures of piece removed. Stretched the fabric layer back over the memory foam, pillow cases back on and it was PERFECT!!!You would never know that it has been modified without taking off all the layers of fabric covering the foam.While I wish it fit me perfect out of the box, I realize there is no pillow that fits everyone. At least this one can be modified easily.

I have had neck problems for decades. Thought I'd give this pillow a try. I am glad that I did. It really helps, whether I sleep on my back or my side. Feels really comfortable and cradles my necks very well. I am glad that I made this purchase and recommend the pillow to others with neck problems. (Only problem I have is that I watch TV in bed and for that, I add my regular pillow so I can sit upright. Sometimes I fall asleep with those pillows still on my bed. So I have to make an effort to shut off the TV and take the other pillows off the bed in order to fall asleep properly. This is my fault for watching TV in bed at night - nothing to do with this product!)

First, this pillow took almost 5 days to fully expand. Once expanded, it did not resemble the product picture. The shape was not the same, no channel for the neck. The neck support was bad and gave me one of the worst nights of sleep I've had in a while. I would not recommend.

My pillow came in hard but that was expected.."Memory Foam" comes in hard and it takes time to brake-in. Especially if its summer and your AC is making your room cold ,I experience this last year with my memory foam mattress at first it felt like sleeping on a rock but after a few months its eventually became very comfortable. Customer service is very helpful and is very quick to respond for your concerns...hope this helps others when purchasing a memory foam product.

My neck hurt much more after using this pillow for 4 days. I quit using it and then developed burning, painful lesions on my neck and the back of my head which still has not resolved. I question the chemicals in the pillow.

Great support, soft enough to sleep like baby. Got it four days ago and had been using it every night. Best pillow I’ve bought. First time trying a memory pillow like this one, and it didn’t disappoint!!! Now I can finally sleep/watch tv on my side without the need of folding a pillow. To be sincere, when I first opened it, I thought it was kind of flat (it came in vacuum sealed bag) and thought it would take hours to get fluffy - but didn’t. Within an hour or so it was ready to use (you need to shake it a bit also). It’s perfect for my neck/head/shoulders - not sure if people with wide necks/shoulders or big heads will find it comfortable. But you don’t loose anything by trying it. I love it!!

I’m happy with this pillow, I was diagnosed with cervical disc degeneration, I’ve been having a lot of neck pain. This resolved it and helps keep me on my back versus laying on my stomach. It’s comfortable to sleep on the side too. It’s great that has a nice soft washable cover. I was concerned it would smell, but it has no odor. It’s a great pillow if you have frequent neck pain.
