I love this door handle set, fairly easy to install, nice and beefy, my one complaint would be that they don't tell you where to drill for the bottom handle but I figured out a way to do it myself and I liked that I can key it to fit my old keys

Our front door looks so much better. We wanted to be able to lock the front without using a key in the dead bolt everytime. This does the job. With both a dead bolt and a doorknob lock, we are secure easily.

While the product itself is relatively good quality, the installation instructions leave something to be desired. Installation is fairly straightforward, until you get to the part where you need to drill the "bottom handleset support hole". Nowhere in the instruction sheet; or even from the Kwikset website, does it tell you what size drill bit you will need. However, this is still a quality door handle/deadbolt set. I highly recommend you watch the "Complete Installation Guide for Kwikset Front Door Lock Set" on YouTube by "Derek Reviews" before you start the installation, so you will have a better idea of what to be prepared for before you dive into this project. I hope this helps!

My front door handle broke and I had to enter through a different door. I wanted the same style and color. This one was almost exactly the same decorative shape and was the same color. It was a good price as well. My son put it on for me when it arrived. It was easy to install and works really well. Turns out it had 3 different screw holes usable to attach the extended portion of the door lock. One of those holes matched up perfectly with the existing hole used by the broken handle, so it fit perfectly and we didn't have to drill a new hole. And because it was the same brand, my son was able to rekey the lock so I could use the same key I have been using. I am very happy with this purchase.

This is a really positive review because I'm thrilled with this door handle set. The handleset with deadbolt adds that extra level of security. It also includes installation hardware which made the setup a breeze. The lifetime mechanical warranty is a testament to its quality and durability. And let's not forget the SmartKey Rekey Deadbolt Security - a strong selling point. The set looks great, functions well and I love that it has the matching deadbolt! Highly recommended!

This was basically a like for like replacement of an existing Kwikset door handle set. The original one was working fine but the exterior finish had seen better days. Easy to remove the old one and install the new one. Instructions were pretty good and all necessary parts were present. I think this was a very good value for the money and matched up to the existing holes quite well. Everything looks great just need to do some paint touching up where the outline was slightly different on the outside. The first one lasted 26 years so this one should do the same. Mechanicaly the original was fine it was just cosmetic.

We are having plantation shutters installed and was told I needed to change out my lever handle doorknob to a round doorknob (inside) --- this meant replacing the entire system. We had a Kwikset and was told by our builder about the re-keying if we needed it. So I purchased this set for the ease. 15 minutes to install both the deadbolt and the entry lock. Less than 30 seconds to re-key to our house keys that we were already using (Note: we didn't want to have different keys from our front/back doors so we re-keyed to the previous lock settings). This is a heavy lock - We use both the deadbolt and the handle lock to lock our home when we leave. Each key turn is to the right with easy entry. I have NO regrets at all. (My husband wanted to hire a locksmith - thinking it was too difficult ---- He admitted after he completed the job that it was one of the easiest home jobs he has ever done).

Our first one worked for two months until it completely broke and we had to break into our house to disassemble the lock from the inside. Then had to cut it out of the door because of how badly it was jammed up. Got a replacement and the second one is jiggly and not seating well at all and seems cheap quality. Unsure why these are both so poorly made that they aren’t working
