I don't suffer from any obvious signs of protein deficiency or anything, so I can't speak for that. I try to stay away from whey since it gives me stomach aches and nausea, so I've been trying this out. I was reading that pea protein powder is completely lab generated (not sure if it's true) so I got this one, though I'm not sure if this is lab-made as well. At least I'm trying. I mix two tablespoons with a glass of plain water mostly because I just want to keep it simple and it's fast. If I wanted, I could mix this with almond milk or chocolate syrup or something to make it tastier. The packaging doesn't say how much water I should mix it with, so it gives you free reign on that based on your preference. It doesn't have a certain labeled flavor or anything, but basically it tastes like brown rice. It's not great...but it does the job and that's all I'm concerned about during my busy weekdays. Picky people would probably not like this too much. This is the most grainy, gritty protein powder I've had so far. Imagine mixing fine sand in water. It never really mixes, it just kind of swirls around and settles if you let it sit for too long. Maybe I'm putting too much powder for the amount of water I'm using. Anyway, it feels gritty in my mouth. Still, this is a great value, it's vegan, hypoallergenic, organic, and seems healthy enough.
