Right tool for the job
I find a number of the reviews for this product with low ratings to be entirely unhelpful. In part, my positive review is to counter these. Someone complained it did not remove spray foam from doorway. Its for caulk, not foam! Someone else complained about the noxious smell. I don't remember noticing anything - but full disclosure I had the bath exhaust fan on and the door to the room open as a standard condition for good work enviornment- maybe they didn't allow adequate ventilation? Someone else complained that it ruined their tub surface. I don't even understand that. Is your tube made out of silicone? My application was straightforward: re-caulk the interface of the top of my tub with the tiled walls on 3 sides. For a quality job its essential to fully remove the old stuff and achieve a clean surface (I used rubbing alcohol for final prep). I have no complaints. The job went well and a little quicker than I could have hoped for. My tub was a high quality metal type originally installed in the mid 1960s. The tiles were classic 4"x4" square ceramics commonly seen in bathrooms. To be fair, its not like I could run an experiment with an identical tub and do the same job without the product. I'm assuming that the relative ease of old caulk removal is largely attributable to the product. What I particularly liked was the small volume option for the product since you don't really need much of this fluid for a normal job like this. I still have plenty left over. I also like how the pump action provided a very precise squirt to get it exactly along the caulk where desired.

It works!
The smell is a bit strong. I suggest opening a window for some ventilation or wearing a mask, but it did not ruin my hardwood floors. It made the caulk easy to remove. Just needed to wash it down with some soap and water after use. It was a lifesaver for the area I needed to clean! Highly recommend.

Don't Buy
Doesn't work. Tried to use it to remove caulk from shower wall and it did nothing. When I tried to return, amazon said it was not eligible for refund even though I had just received it that day. Crap product

I was right! đ
I decided to redo my bathroom. Several years ago we had a couple of guys come in and replace our bathroom floor due to a water leak we had under the house. My husband is one of THE BEST carpenter, plumbers, electricians you will EVER find! ( Just don't ask him to work on your car. đ) At the time though, he was unable to do the job himself. These guys had to take out our bath sink & cabinet. When they remounted it, they did NOT use the correct caulking to go around the top of the sink against the wall. My husband said it looked like glue for flooring. It was this dark gray, and put on pretty sloppy. So, I googled on Amazon, found some different products, but I liked this one best. Went with my gut. Well, I have a husband that "poo-poo's" a lot of things I do. I got it in the mail yesterday, and he kept telling me that it wouldn't work. This morning, I decided to squeeze some on a section of it, waited a few minutes, then got my razor scraper. Bingo! It didn't even take much physical effort. I scooped up what I had scraped off, a handful, walked into where he was, stuck it under his nose, and said; "IT WORKS!!" I have to take as much pleasure as I can out of the times when I am right, because it doesn't happen very often. đ

It Works, but Spray Bottle Needs Improvement
I used this smaller size container of silicone caulk remover to help take out old silicone caulk around an under-counter kitchen sink in a granite counter. I had already managed to take out most of the old caulk by cutting and scraping with tools, so there was just a small amount of caulk left. I believe the product would work better if the means of delivery were not a spray top because the product was too thick and sprayed everywhere but where I aimed it, and besides, having slippery hands didn't help. Application might work better if the bottle had just a squeeze bottle tip. That being said, I think the silicone caulk remover was worth buying to remove the little residue that was left.

Works to unseat a toilet
This stuff works! We tried EVERYTHING to unseat our toilet (blades, tiny saw, etc.) before we gave up and ordered this. Made the job a breeze. Thank you so much!

Works Great!
I bought this to remove a mess of extra silicone caulk that a contractor had left smeared around my clientâs sink. I wasnât sure if it would work but gave it a try. I was very pleased! I just sprayed it on, gave it a few minutes and removed the caulking with a blade. Once I removed the bulk of it, I lightly sprayed some more product and removed the rest with firm wiping with a paper towel. After, I cleaned all the product off with alcohol, recaulked, and good as new.
