Barefoot trail shoe Review: Happy with these - Happy with these... have over 350 miles on them in the past 4 months and other than some dried up mud from sloppy trails they are still like new. Tough, durable and comfortable (initially the fit felt strange compared to the True Glove 3s I had been wearing, but my foot quickly adapted). I prefer a slightly larger size to allow plenty of room for the toes. The mid of these does seem narrow, but I really like that. They don't allow my food to slide around no matter if I'm on pavement, or rocks and roots out on the trails. Another solid trail runner from Merrell. Update Nov 2: after 7 months and almost 600 miles the only part of these that has worn down are the inner footbed on my pinky toe side - but like a good barefoot/minimalist runner that's where I land. I've rubbed the fabric covering away which caused some irritation in thin summer socks. Getting some thicker socks has helped. I've done 3 trail ultras and a half ultra in these bad boys. Still solidly intact and plenty of miles left in them. Review: Good shoe; unfortunately tears after minimal time and effort - I’ve had these shoes for just over a month. I’ve fallen in love with them and the difference muscles they work out. However with minimal exerition they have begun to tear slightly.

Feet feel great after 12 hours!
I’m an ER nurse and work on my feet 12 hours a night. On my days off I’m in thong sandals almost exclusively. Not a shoe expert, don’t know the nomenclature. I’m very happy with these shoes, great for work. I usually use Nike running shoes at work, but heard good things about Merrell. Very happy in these!

This fabric WILL tear
This is my fourth purchase of this style from Merrell, and it seems they still haven't figured out how to fix their fabric so that it doesn't tear itself apart with even just light usage. I use these shoes to walk to and from work. No work outs, no running, just casual walking, and this is the result. It is the exact same as recent Vapor glove shoes I have as well. Why can't Merrell go back to the fabric of the original Vapor? I still have my ORIGINAL vapor pair (pictured, the dark black/gray), used and abused, crossfit workouts and more and they are not tearing at the crease. I love Merrell as a brand but this is very disappointing, for the third time in a row. Would love some feedback from the company here.

Changed the toebox
I just decided to replace my original trail gloves (yes, they are five years old and falling apart). These arrived and they looked pretty awesome. However, the toebox changed, and not for the better. The toebox is too small for long toe. The originals had a rounder shape and allowed for my longer second toe to fit in the shoe, but the new version seems to have a straight cut. It is painful to wear. Gave 3 stars: the left shoe fit perfectly since the toe on that foot is slightly shorter. Bummed I can't use these, but going to a size 13 would be way too big

Ninja slippers be praised
I wear size 12s. These were a tad big for me but still more than functional. Other than that these shoes are beautiful. I wear them as much as I possibly can when needed, especially when physically training to try to get as close to my natural foot without looking like a hippy weirdo barefoot in the gym.

great shoe
Great shoe. Comfortable and light. The heel siding needs to be re-enforced. Can not be used as slip on or slip off as heel will squish and not stand back up after foot is in. Needs to be fully untied and retied or shoe horn required.

second pair
I originally purchased these shoes for crossfit but found they just dont offer enough support. However, they fit really nice and are super light. I started wearing them regularly in place of a a normal of sneakers and are now my favorite pair of shoes.

Not for wide feet
These shoes are really good, except for people with wide feet. If you are using a (.5) size be aware that there is an elastic running from the tongue to the side. This squeezes the foot and creates cramps. See the pic for the piece I'm referring to. It has taken me months to get the piece to stretch out enough to stop causing cramps. I still can't tighten the shoes properly though. I buy Merrell as the sizing works for me and this is the only shoe I've had this problem on. Outside of that though these shoes are great and perform as you would expect. They get a solid 4 stars.

Buen zapato minimalista multiusos
