Creativity for Kids F901580 West Design Junior Selection Awesome Origami Large Kit, Multi-Color

This was a present for my 9-year-old niece. she loved it and made an adorable little frog right away. There are a good mix of easy, medium, and hard patterns, and there are a lot of fun papers. It's a great beginners set for a kid who is old enough to be able to follow the instructions -- I would say it's most appropriate for 7-11 year olds. Might be too frustrating for those under 7 and not challenging enough for those over 11 (although I must admit that one of the patterns had me so confused -- at 27 -- but my niece figured it out, so it was all ok). I wish there were more of the decorating pieces (the feathers, beads, etc -- there are only a handful), but overall, pretty happy with everything.

I bought this to play with my step-children, and it has been a lot of fun. We sit around the dining table or coffee table, choose our papers, and I follow the directions and help them. The designs are really fun and/or cute, and the instructions are fairly good. The 8-yr old girl can follow really well and is pleased with the final product. The 4-yr old boy has trouble, but he also enjoys it and cannot believe what he has made at the end of it. It's all good fun, and it doesn't take longer than 10-15 minutes to finish any one of the projects. I highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys making crafts or likes activities that don't involve TV or video games (!!!).

This was purchased as a Birthday gift for my son, who loves Origami. My Son was crazy in love with the set and made nearly every origami in the book. He already knew quite a few of the folds but he found each of folds easy to understand and to actually make.I think this is a great toy that encourages Hand and Eye motor coordination, Imaginative play, and is great for children of all ages. A great Birthday Gift Idea!

Even though my granddaughter is only six, she loved this kit. She is very good with her hands and I was able to show her how to do some of the designs. Some adult supervision is needed with children of this age, but the kit is flexible enough with all its little decorations and feathers that children can use their imagination to make their own creations without having to follow the rules step by step.

I gave this only 3 stars because some directions are not very good. Both my daughter and I attempted to assist my granddaughter with the flower and neither of us could make it work based on instructions. We had to play around and try different things (not mentioned in the book) to get it right. This is not true of all the instructions, just some. Also there aren't very many cords included so you'll need to buy more. Otherwise my granddaughter had a good time making the origami sculptures.

Our 11 year old daughter really enjoyed this starter kit. She is now moving on to bigger pieces of paper and seeking out more complex origami designs. This is a great way to determine your or your child's interest in this art form.

We haven't opened the box yet because this is a Christmas present for our son. I was a little disappointed when I received the package, only because I didn't pay enough attention to see that this kit is mainly origami PAPERS!

A gift for a beautiful soul and mind.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my 11 year old niece. She absolutely loves it. Her mom reports that she's been making origami everything!

Gift for grandaughters, they had fun with it.

Love it and so do the kids hours of fun making things with the kids you can do anything and so can they the instructions aren't as easy to follow on some things but still a great product for the money

Not just for kids, this got my husband at the atble learning a new skill! lol lots of fun for all and lots of stuff to make. my daughter made a doll, numerous wallets, a cup, a fly, a crane and a box. (she's 9 1/2) the instructions are quite clear some a re more tricky butthats expected, but she managed unaided to make a lot of them. this was about £10.99 i think and i think its a fab gift for any crafty person not just kids! you get lots of paper squares included.

My brother brought this a few years back for my niece and it was very well made the box was bigger and it definitely had more items in it. This box is smaller and flimsy looks cheap and has fewer items in it. As I have seen the one my brother brought and compared to that this was terrible most definitely not worth the money! Would have never brought it in the first place if I knew It had changed.
