This projects a clear and easily identifiable image that is perfect for a bedroom. It’s not too bright, not too dark. Instructions warn that staring into the LED light can cause permanent eye damage. So consider purchasing for older kids. My 6yo does great but my daughter always want to “inspect it” when she was about 6.

First of all, you should realize what this thing actually is. It is a small LED light, which is plugged into a socket, and which projects a dim blue static picture on a wall, or a ceiling. Nothing is moving there, the picture is not realistic, it is not educational, and it does not even remotely resemble a planetarium: it does not have black background. Just a blue disk of light (very dim, really) on a ceiling, with something spacish-astromonish there.However - and this is probably a key - the kids just LOVE it. First half an hour they played with the light sensor inside, checking how the LED lights up when they cover the ball with their hands. After that they demanded that we shut the light off, closed the door, and enjoyed the view. And since then they don't want any other light to be on in their room - only this one. Which is very energy-efficient, and probably healthy (as, again, this light is dim, and so wouldn't disturb anybody).A great toy; a surprisingly great toy!

These work great! They go off and on as they should based on the amount of light on the light sensor. They are plenty bright enough to calm my kids' fears of the dark, but not too bright. The picture is clear, colorful, and fun. My only complaint is that it cannot be adjusted sideways, so your options of where to project the image are pretty limited... anywhere from straight up from the outlet to straight across the room. There is also no option to adjust the size of the image other than the fact that the farther away you project the image, the larger it will appear. The kids absolutely love it though!

As other reviewers comment, it's unfortunate that the size of the projection on the ceiling is not larger. However, other than that, it is performing great as a nightlight for my daughter thus far. She has quite the infatuation with space and all things space related these days, so this was an obvious choice to help her with her fear of sleeping in total darkness, and should help save money for me over her previous tendency to get up and turn her light on and leave it on all night. Not only does the projection on the ceiling add light to the room, but the blue ball itself glows quite nicely to illuminate the room.I haven't had this long enough to speak to the longevity of the projection printing as others have stated them being prone to fading. If that does happen, I will come back and update my review.My only negative is that there is no way to turn the nightlight off. So, it is always on when the light in the room is off (it uses a photosensitive switch to automatically turn on and off as needed) unless you go to the trouble unplug it from the wall, or happen to have a free, optimally located switched outlet to use it with. I have considered attaching an inline timer to make it have power only during nighttime hours, but that hardly seemed worth it for the cost of the nightlight its minuscule power requirements.

We purchased this in October. By January, the color was bleaching out of the projected graphic. The sun, for instance, went from detailed oranges to a light yellow. I'm very disappointed. I'd give it two stars, but it's not as though it's stopped working. The light-sensing feature seems to function as it should. It's very bright. My son still likes it. But compared to how beautiful it was in the beginning, it's sad to see it now. At least it was only ~$8.

My son is 2 and on the spectrum. He is obsessed with planets right now and he loves this. It looks great on his ceiling. Make sure you have a plug in down low. I tried it on a plug in that was higher up and the picture looked warped. Definitely recommend for anyone who loves planets/solar system!

I bought this as a backhanded gift for a guy I was dating at the time. He thinks he's the next Elon Musk and absolutely brilliant (he's not). He started as an engineering major but failed out of the program but decided he was going to end up as an astronaut so I thought this would be the perfect gift for him to fail at too. Also, He has terrible night vision so he has literally never seen the stars. He thought pictures of the night sky were high exposure pictures only until I burst his bubble. So I figured a picture of the solar system on his ceiling at night would be the perfect display of what he sees above him but will never reach. Or see in real life. I was ready to break up with him after a few weeks of dating but we were approaching Christmas, so we stayed together and I bought him a gift. However, I just couldn't take it anymore and broke up with him before we exchanged gifts so here we are where I got to keep a beautiful night light! I now use it in my bathroom so my cat can see where she is going at night to get to her box. The display is quite defined and the blue globe glows, illuminating the room for easy visuals in the dark. Would be great for a kid who is afraid of the dark. Or a bad boyfriend who has never seen the stars, failed at being an engineer, but thinks he's going to be an astronaut.

La proyección es chica pero se divierten los niños. El contacto a la luz en casa debe de estar vertical no horizontal para que puedas proyectar en el techo, de lo contrario proyecta al lado a corta distancia.

Es muy bonita la imagen que proyecta. Llego antes de tiempo. Lo recomiendo ampliamente. A mi hijo le encantó. .

Le gusto mucho a mi hijo, la imagen es muy nítida y suficientemente brillante (con la luz apagada), esta dentro de las expectativas, espero dure mucho.
