adhesive isn't overly sticky even after long applications
I picked this tape for the cost and really it's width. After applying it to several surfaces during events we had at church, I got the smart idea to use it as a giant scribble strip on my mixing console. I've applied it and pulled it up following several channel assignments and reassignments on the mixer. I've seen no issues with the tape being overly sticky and it's on par with more expensive Gaffer's tapes that I've used in the past. I plan on picking up other colors as well. As a note, it's not great with markers! they fade immediately and are easy to transfer from the tape back to your hand or clothing. So just be aware of that. Great tape tho!

It is cloth backed tape, but the adhesive isn’t true rubber based.
This stuff is pretty thin for advertising itself as “real gaffers tape.” Unfortunately the sticky adhesive isn’t all that great on some surfaces and leaves some on occasion which isn’t a big deal so long as you just use a wad of the tape you just pulled up to dab at the bits of adhesive remaining on whatever it was you’d run the tape across. I don’t think the adhesive is a true rubber based adhesive and is likely some kinda synthetic based sticky stuff. True gaff tape is a rubber based adhesive and so long as you don’t leave it stuck down for terribly long or extended time in the direct sunlight during an outdoor show in the sun mid July on a flat black unshaded stage never leaves a gooey mess. I am not saying this stuff does, but I suspect that it wouldn’t perform well in the conditions I described above. What it does do well is stick cables and wires down indoors on smooth or reasonably smooth floors as long as you know it will be very temporary, as in a couple three hours before you strike your gear and push your crap out to your hauler to return to your shop. Those attempting to use this for long term cable runs across commercial carpet and expecting it to pull up in a couple months or whatever will be sadly disappointed. That isn’t really a good practice to do anyway, but that is a whole different subject regarding professional stage craft or lack there of. For cheap, blow and go, one off gigs this stuff is fine and beyond the occasional bits of stickum here and there its only other negative ding against it in my experience is that it is a bit on the thin side and once in awhile will rip in an unexpected manner which isn’t a deal breaker at under twenty five bucks a roll for 60 yards. Locally we buy ProGaff or other nationally recognized brands for forty to forty five bucks for a three inch 60 yard roll so the savings more than make up for the short comings of this “budget” four inch wide gaff tape. If you need some thicker material that has better deployed duration on your stage and are worried about cleaning up a little sticky bit of remaining adhesive from your cords or whatever, then I would recommend breaking out the platinum card and blowing the additional cash for some Pro Gaff or another national brand because this isn’t the product for you. It does the job for what it is intended at a fair price in my opinion and I want to remind you that you don’t buy a Geo Metro and expect it to feel like a Rolls Royce when you drive around in it do you? I rest my case and hereby end my drivel on the subject of tape. Merry Christmas to all or whatever you are celebrating this time of year.

Tape does not stick for long
None of the atributes that were rated (adhesion, value, vulnerability), can be applied because the tape does not stick for very long. I've used gaffer tape all my life and it is known for it's durability, of which adhesive is a primary aspect. The tape is very thin, and it seems the quality has changed.I have bought at least 3 of these rolls, and this one is particularly inadequate.I wish I could have my money back, but I HAD to try to make it work. The use ofthis tape will need to be replaced as soon as possible. Thank you for listening.

Tape is very thin and adhesive is weak.
Tape is very thin and adhesive is weak. We have another roll from a different company and the tape is thicker and the adhesive has better gripping power. (Old company did not make the color we wanted.)
