Pictures needs to be updated
I love that the pictures are clear and large but honestly, some pictures are so irrelevant to the kids these days.A radio? Really? where are these kids going to see one?

Best book for toddlers who are growing their vocabulary!!
I am in love with DK’s My First books. I purchased this one after loving both the abc and body version. These books are perfect for 9 month olds and up! My 16 month old has always been very vocal but I strongly believe that these books have been a huge help for her growing vocabulary!!! She loves to sit and point at the pictures and name them and when she gets them right she is so proud of herself. I have a couple of these books now and I love how each book is unique and has new words to learn. This book is a great one to get if you just want one of the My First books because it covers a lot! What I love most about this book is:- it has real pictures of objects rather than cartoon versions so she can recognize items she sees in her daily life- it is the perfect size for small hands! My daughter loves to get this book off the shelf and flip through it on her own- it is the perfect size to fit in a diaper bag! These books have been a lifesaver and the best way to keep an active toddler happy and still at church.- it is very inexpensive for the quality of book you are getting (sturdy board book) and for the number of pages (30)This is a great gift for a 1-2 year old! Like it, but we do not know if its the best on the market.
I bought this book to use with 2-3 year olds as an introduction to many common nouns. In some ways the book is a bit redundant to what we already own, but in many ways it does meet our needs better than other board books that I have seen.Pros:1. Real photos.2. A lot of things are presented.3. Board book4. Instantly engaged and interested my 17 month old son - he flipped through it multiple times in one day and paused very contemplatively on each page.5. Perfect size for my toddler's little hands.6. Most of the pages have a white background and not scenery or background patterns so the images can be clearly seen.7. Includes shapes, colors, and numbers at the end of the book.Cons:1. The "line to vocab word" format used for labeling body parts is not well understood by little toddlers.2. Backgrounds or added scenery (only on a few pages) takes away from clearly seeing the objects.3. Some images are hard to see (like the ants marking up the side of a tree trunk).4. A number of the item photos do not look like what I have at home, but no book is going to match my home perfectly.5. A number of items chosen were redundant to other books we already own.Overall, I like the book and so does my son, but I do not know if its the best first words book on the market.

We read it every day!
My One year old granddaughter loves this book! She chooses it to read every day, and because there are many objects and words on each page we can vary it as we read it multiple times a day. I would highly recommend it.

Our 2 year old loves this book. It’s his favorite book. Sometimes goes to bed at night holding it 😀. He likes looking at the pages with all the vehicles in them (car, boat etc). He learned lot of his first words from this book.

Fantastic helping with his development
Brought it as a Christmas present for my little one and he loves it. The pictures are big enough so that he can point to them. Although he's not talking yet the book has encouraged him the point to something in the book and then he get the item or point to it eg a ball or his eyes.

Great first book
My 1 year old loves looking through the book. Idea for car travel entertainment as well as at home. It’s a nice size for holding and pages are easy to turn.

Brilliant first board book for toddlers
A beautiful little board book, a very nice first book to teach children about their world and satisfy their inquisitive little minds. Lovely photographs and layout. Also the books are a nice size and weight for a toddler to hold. Overall a great book that you would expect from DK. I do highly recommend this book and the others in the My first series.

Grandchildren’s fave
We have a few DK books which the twins (19 months) enjoy but this is probably their current favourite, spotting familiar things and talking about/naming them
