Allegedly, the heroines are soldiers
But I could not get over the part where the group of captured female soldiers just let their sister in arms be dragged away to get molested, and not one of the female soldiers did anything. Second, I could not swallow that part where the women are captured, and told they have been captured so they can get impregnated. Inexplicably, the women soldiers become friendly towards their captors, after a short span of time, they lose interest in their resistance to their jailers. What happened to their allegiance to Earth? I thought they were soldiers? Just because the aliens were hunky and good in bed? What happened to character development? Im sorry, but even if this is sci fi erotica, I do expect a well written piece of fiction.

Really?
We’re just going to skip over the enslaving and raping that is the norm for the males’ society. We are going to ignore that the H used coercion to get the h to agree to be with him, threatening the other women if she didn’t agree. We are also going to not call the H drugging and having sex with the h what it is. It’s rape, people. Drugging and having sex with someone, using blackmail and coercion tommake someone have sex with you, both of these things are rape! But the guys look good, so apparently all of the raping is okay. It’s no wonder rape culture is still a thing when women participate in furthering and normalizing it like this. How the heck does one go about returning this book? I don’t want to support this kind of thing. I should have known better, as another of this series is much the same. I was just hoping for better.

The 1 star is for the price: free
I love alpha male, but this was too much. I didn't even make it past chapter 3. When it was pointed out that dune women would be interested if they had approached in peace and without the threat of being sold to whore houses if they didn't choose one of his men and his response was "this is how it's done". I was done. "Consent" to be raped by one guy or be sold and raped by multiple guys. This is the basis of your book/series. I'm supposed to believe that there will be a HEA from this.

A descent start to the series.
"“I love you, little Moore Cat, and without you I am nothing. I could not go on. I need you.” - 94% Alien Lord’s Captive"Alien Lord’s Captive is book one in the Warriors of the Lathar series by Mina Carter. It’s a descent start to the Warriors of the Lathar series. It’s a quick read and the romance moves fast. The Lathar are all Alpha sexy warrior aliens. Their race has lost its females and are in need of the opposite sex.Our heroine didn’t cower. She took the best option with the chooses presented to her. The human women showed these Lathar males that they are capable, strong, and warriors in their own right. The romance is quick and you feel the heat between our leads. The sexy times where enjoyable. Not much world building in this first book, but I have hope that we will get more. We are also treated to a little drama in that some of the Lathar are purists. All and all I enjoyed Alien Lord’s Captive.Rated: 3 Stars

Enjoyable alien romance with capture theme
I love stories where the alien hero is a war lord and conquers the h. I love that whole "we need females and claim you as our property." Not PC, but I love reading it. I guess it goes back to some of the earliest romances I ever read, like The Wolf and the Dove. My favorite historicals are with invading/kidnapping Vikings, Normans, etc. And that's how this alien H seems-- clad in leather, looking like a conquering war lord, claiming his human female by right of might.I usually like my alien heroes to look a bit less human, but this guy was appealing. Looks almost human, with the only real differences his being built much stronger, taller and muscular, and his golden, almost feline-like eyes. The h is curvy and pretty tough in her own way, and I enjoyed how she and the other women on base showed the alien men just how resourceful and smart humans can be. The H and his people misjudged humans at first, thinking of them as inferior property to be had and used, but soon see humanity as willful and intelligent. The sex is good and steamy, and I felt that the h/H were forging a love/romance. The secondary characters were interesting, and I'd be willing to check out more in this series. The H has a twin brother, then there's the alien Emperor, and the other captured women. I wish there had been more to the ending. I felt that was a little rushed. It was over before I wanted it to be. Would have loved more time with h/H together. Also, there are some questions left (warring Lathar factions, the poor Oonat, the human military response), and I guess that will be picked up as the series continues. All in all, this was a quick, easy romance with capture theme and a possessive alien hero. I enjoyed it.

Very enjoyable!
I actually read these separately years ago and didn't realize it (even though it gives a warning). But that's ok, I enjoyed revisiting it again. Yeah, the Aliens are beyond arrogant and view the human women as nothing more than slaves, but considering they haven't come across another compatible species ever, much less an intelligent one, it does make more sense. And let's face it, aside from the fact that this series is as much about human women kicking arrogant alien butt as Warrior abduction. There is a reason these Alien Warrior abduction books are so popular. The whole 'you females are our sex slaves' didn't last long at all once they proved to be intelligent, stubborn, warriors themselves and very, very persistent. Which in my opinion makes for an interesting enjoyable book. My one problem is that expect for Jane's book no one else's book has been written. I want to know what happened to Jess. And Kenna, and the Emperor. 💛💚💜💙

Could have been bettet
I enjoyed the outline of the book but found more than a little repeated information. Leading me to believe author lost creative thinking during that part. Example: Chapter 9 starts with a whole recap of story, as if by that time I have forgotten the past chapters. Annoying.

Great read
Reading a cross love between an alien species and humans is refreshing. It's more well written than a cameo an alien story I've read by another author. Although the story feels a little short and could do with more action and intrigue, it generally flows very smoothly with plenty of interesting twists, excitement and passion. I loved Cat's fiesty and witty personality, and great to see she can defend herself and kick ass. Tarrick did save her at one point which is also nice, but what happened after wasn't really addressed... Overall this is becoming very addictive!
