Reliable, AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE, and easy to see!
Great product and great customer service! Bought this for my Grandmother because she only likes the older regular corded phones with a separate caller ID that is not displayed anywhere on any part of the phone. lol!She just turned 90 two days ago and she loves the large display because it’s so much easier for her to read and she loves that you can turn off the sound and the light and have the light just turn on for a few seconds when someone calls at night!

A useful addition to my desk, not to see who is calling (although it does that, too) but useful to review older calling data.
Works well, and replaces an older model (that died of old age) by another manufacturer. I would have given it 5 stars except that the display is a little hard for me to read unless the room lighting is just right. However, it contains and displays all the information I need. Some previous models by other manufacturers I have had got flummoxed by some of the calling sites; this model seems to get it right every time, although I find it annoying that an increasing number of calling sites seem to block the calling information.Would I buy it again if I needed another? Yes, I would buy it again without hesitancy.

Big display, memory of inbound calls, Caller ID - Happy Customer!
Bought this for my elderly mom and linked it a hearing impaired phone. When I call Mom she says hello and knows it is me calling. It also keeps a record of calls, so Mom can look and recall last time a specific person called her. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for - worth the investment for us, we are very pleased because it is easy to use and Mom really takes advantage of having the caller ID

Bad product, no customer service
The Emerson Large Display Caller id product was defective. The number display showed only "parts" of the numbers, and the actual display was cut off at the left and unreadable. The vendor via email seemed fine and Maxi-aids agreed to processing a return but I had to provide my own return labelling and postage. I actually didn't know before this that Amazon doesn't cooridnate returns with outside vendors listed on the site, and as a result of my experience on this purchase, will never buy anything that lists a vendor as the purchase agent. It was a complete rip off. I've never had a problem with "Amazon" backed purchases, but with this product via this vendor, no refund was ever processed. I lost not only the product cost and shipping, but also return shipping to send the defective item back. Costly. Awful. Don't buy this product. Also, this vendor is not recommended.

works great
Bought this for my dad's workshop in the basement. He has one of the old style bell telephones that he likes, but when he is downstairs he cannot tell who is calling and doesn't always like to stop what he is working on -- especially for all those unknown callers. This is large enough for him to see the numbers and the talking part works quite well, too. This is one of the best items I have ever purchased. The company that this item shipped to also has great customer service. Thank you all.

Needs A Better Display
For those of us with replica vintage phones that don't include caller ID in the features, a caller ID box is about the only option available. And that would be okay, but every one of them--every ONE--has a crummy display. I bought this because based on the picture, it lights up like the sun. I'm here to report that it doesn't. An Indiglo watch is brighter. This really awful LED display is so hard to read, even with the additional feature of adjustable contrast--right--and larger characters that you have to tilt the unit just so to see anything. What these units need is a black-on-white display like a Paperwhite Kindle, or at least an LCD display like a clock radio. It has an option to mount it on the wall, which would be great to get it off my already-crowded desk, but then I couldn't tilt it "just so." Bah!

Nice Caller ID
The Emerson Caller ID unit was purchased for a person with poor sight. The speaking of the phone number of the caller is really nice. The only problem with the unit is the poor contrast of the LCD display. It is very hard to read the display, but not due to the size of the characters, but due to a poor contrast. I turned the contrast all the way up and unless you angle the display just right, it's nearly impossible to read. Since this unit is for someone with poor sight, I was a little more than disappointed with contrast, but very happy with the announce feature. The old unit was smaller but easier to read, so, consider that when you purchase one. Oh, don't forget to purchase your 4 AAA batteries. The unit has an AC adapter jack, but doesn't come with one. With the size of the Caller ID box, they should have used AA sized batteries, as they would have lasted longer.Pro:Talking Caller IDLarge DisplayLightedAC adapter can be usedCon:Hard to read LCD due to poor contrastSmaller battery (AAA)Does not come with 5Volt AC adapterSince this unit is being used for a person with poor sight, the LCD is actually a major drawback. I have trouble reading it and my corrected vision is perfect. On the other hand, the announce feature is fantastic. It's too bad the LCD is so poor. She uses Caller ID for when a phone call comes in and she's on it with another person, she also uses it to call people back when she goes out. The 60 number memory is more than enough. Overall, I find the unit barely acceptable.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE AND NEED THIS
I absolutely love this product. I had one for a long time and one of the battery contacts broke off so had to get a new one. couldn't find any in stores any more (got mine at WalMart) as they seem to think people don't use land lines any ore but I DO. I love the large text and the announcing feature. the print on the phone itself is too small and light for me to read it so absolutely HAVE to have this item. THANK YOU AND KEEP MAKING THIS AVAILABLE I YEARS TO COME.
