I liked this so much I bought 4 of them!!
This is an amazing alarm system. I bought 2 systems initially as monitoring devices for my in-law's house and my own. After setting both up, it was amazing how easy it is to use, and what a great deal this system is. I ended up buying 2 more units, total 4 units in all, for friends and family, and they all love it!! The system is very simple to set up, requires virtually no technical knowledge or skills. The instructions are super easy and clear. PROS: 1. Cheap! No monthly monitoring costs! ADT and others are ripping you off for something this product offers at a fraction of the cost. 2. Easy to use, instant alerts on your smartphone 3. Great range - I set one up on a 2 story house and the sensors all had no problem communicating with the hub. 4. Flexible - you can set the sensors to alarm only when armed away, home, or any time. You can turn on / turn off sensors anywhere in the world. 5. Cheap!! Did I mention that already? 6. Reliable. No false alarms, the sensors work every single time. Amazing!! 7. Instant alerts - no matter where you are, you get alerted to activity at home. That's great peace of mind, especially if you have school age kids who come home early! CONS: 1. Only comes with 2 door sensors and 1 motion sensor. Would really like 3 door sensors (front, garage, back door)... so I end up putting 1 on front door, one on garage door, and a motion sensor that covers the back door. 2. Proprietary software / (free) service - if Skylink ever goes belly up, then this system will be as worthless as a door knob. Wish it was open source and you could use any server to get alerts. However since these are so cheap, it's not much risk. You'd be paying ADT 3-4 months the cost of the units. 3. App issues - I noticed one time I couldn't log into the app to arm / disarm for about 1 hour. Not sure if the servers were down for maintenance or what. I continued to get alerts though. So I just used the alarm remote to arm / disarm the system, no big deal. 4. Android app is not as robust as iOS app...may have issues with current Android app to log in... Overall, I love these alarms. Even though I already have an existing alarm system, I love having this unit as a "back up" to alert me of activities at home. My existing alarm system only calls the police and not me immediately, so I'm not always clued in immediately on alarm events. If you care about convenience, safety, and cost, this alarm system is one of the best to get! Highly recommended.

Skylink Succeeds, but...
REVISED: Additional CONS A decade and a half ago, to work from home, I had to prove our house had a security system. I did not want something that required a subscription and I found the SkyLink SC-100 basic system. It worked well for our small home, and gave us the peace of mind that, should someone try and break in, we would know about it. Over the years, we more or less maxed out the system. This year, we are in the process of renovating our home; adding a garage, etc., and decided it was time to upgrade the home security system. Enter the SkyLink SK-200!! Wow! Nice, small form factor on the alarm unit. I got it unboxed and set up in no time, replacing the older SC-100 sensors with the new ones. PRO: Works EXCEPTIONALLY WELL through the Android and iOS app! You set up an account through the app and then use the app to set up the hub. PRO: Uses AAA and AA batteries in the sensors. No more special A23 batteries! PRO: Set up the app on all our mobile devices - they all register the sensor activity. PRO: Though the alarm is loud, the mobile apps also tell you when an event has happened with push notifications and banners, and more importantly - WHERE! Which sensor has been fired off! LOVE THIS!! No longer do I have to race to the keypad to see which LED zone light is lit. PRO: Can set the alarm from anywhere in the house; do not need to activate it from the keypad. PRO: The alarm is LOUD, and all the mobile devices with the app running indicate there is something going on and at what sensor. CON: The iOS app is buggy and would not allow me to define the wireless hub (needed for the rest of the mobile devices to connect). I had used an old iPhone to set it up initially, and could not get more than blank alerts on the other devices. I decided to try it again; reset the hub and deleted the app off the iPhone and then install the app on my Android mobile. WORKED GREAT! Through the Android app I was able to define the wireless hub and set that password that all the other mobile systems were then able to use. Now all our devices in the house (iPhones and tablets) can see the SkyLink hub and sensors. CON: About once a month, the hub goes offline. You can tell because the indicator icon on the app turns red. I have to unplug it and using a pin, press the reset button on the bottom of the unit. Drove me CRAZY because it kept telling me that one of our sensors was open (it wasn't). At 1AM when you want to go to bed, it was not fun having to debug this thing. CON: I really wish there was a more comprehensive owner manual other than the set-up cheat sheet. There is a ton more functionality that I may or may not get around to using, but it's nice to know that it's there if and when the time comes. I did not rate tech support because I have not needed to contact them, but other folks reviewing this product said they were great to work with.

Amazing system for the price!
I had been hesitant to get this system, although I'm not sure why. I am absolutely floored by how good it is. I previously owned an SC-100 system that I used in a couple of apartments/townhomes, and I was always really fond of it. Once I got over the learning curve of programming and using it, it just worked. So I have long been a fan of SkyLink. This thing is TOTALLY next-level though. Setup is super easy - power it up, plug it into ethernet, download the app, and go. One quick note - if your phone is in dark mode, the app gets screwy (some text and input fields are hard to read). I'm sure they'll fix that eventually, but just switch your phone back to light mode for a few while you set it up. Adding devices is CRAZY easy. Go to setup wizard in the app, select the device type, give it a name, activate it, and then slap an adhesive pad to it and stick it to a door or whatever. I couldn't believe how easy it was. Then, testing it. This is deployed across a mid-sized townhouse - and not that I would expect to have range problems, but I have not had a single failure to detect activity or motion in the few weeks I've been using it. So it definitely gets approval there. I added a GS-MT garage door sensor and an M-1 remote siren - those integrated really easily also. The garage sensor has the added benefit of never wondering if I remembered to close the garage - just check the app. I love how customizable it is - you have very granular control over everything, including when you want push notifications on your phone, how sensors should act in each arming mode (you can, for example, have the motion sensor do nothing if the system is in HOME mode, and trigger an alarm if it's in AWAY mode), sensor chimes, and even an immediate alarm if you want a red zone that is always off limits (you could, for example, put this on a back door that never gets used, so you'll get an alarm if someone opens it even if the system isn't armed). The network integration is awesome, but if your internet goes down, the system still works with the key fob or keypad on the base station to arm/disarm (the app of course no longer works). And of course, the battery backups keep it functioning in a power outage. All things considered, great little system and I'm very impressed with how seamlessly the whole user experience comes together.

Quite a few things are in need of fixing - then it's 5 Stars!!
This would get 5 stars if the following were fixed: 1. Regardless if using the iPhone or Android app (I use both), you cannot add as many sensors as they advertise (100). You cannot add any sensor beyond the 96th sensor. Yes - I have that many! 2. Once sensors are installed you can group sensors into Zones. A zone can consist of "All Door" and "All Windows". You can also create a zone for a room: "Living Room" which can have an entry door and windows. Here's the problem - on the iPhone app, you can reuse a sensor, so the same Door sensor added to the "All Doors" zone can redundantly be included within the "Living Room" zone. NOT SO with the Android app. Once a sensor is added to any zone, you can never reuse and redundantly add it to a new zone! 3. The Sensor Icons appearing in your main System screen or on any Zone screen CANNOT be re-positioned - moved as you can on your smartphone. This is a HUGE FAILURE in both the iPhone and Android apps as you have to pre-plan the exact order of adding sensors as the layout is sequential and in the order of entry for the Main System Screen - and the Zone screen ordering is - as far as I can determine - random. 4. The cameras (I'm using two to test and determine their usefulness) part of the apps (iPhone & Android) needs a lot of work. I was able to install a 3rd party camera app and this includes greater control of the cameras than the SkyLink app provides. With the 3rd party, you can turn IR lighting on/off; adjust contrast; adjust brightness; and create 5 fixed positions for where you'd like each camera to be looking at, then select a given view or even have the camera auto scan from view 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 (but it does not repeat which ought to be included, as should a continuous sweep back and forth). Manual pan and tilt control, however, is better in the SkyLink app. UNFORTUNATELY, I have not found an Android 3rd party equivalent (I'll call Tech Support next week). 5. There are as yet no options to purchase and install outdoor motion sensors. I successfully waterproofed an indoor motion sensor and installed it outdoors to see how it would work. It was kinda OK, but not as good as SkyLink's HA-434 RTL system (incompatible with the SkyLinkNet System). A MAJOR BENEFIT to having a SkyLinkNet Outdoor Motion Sensor is, as with ALL SkyLink Net Sensors, when an event occurs, it triggers a pushed notification to your smartphone. Now you can login to your SkyLink system and read the Event Log where you can determine which motion sensor was triggered and date/time. Should you have an auxiliary DVR storage system, you can remotely replay the event. Customer Support has been superlative - and I'm sure if SkyLink reads this review they will certainly know who wrote it. SO - hello guys, hope you can get these issues fixed as it has been taking a bit more time than it should to get things squared away. Therefore I'm giving this 3 stars due to the number of months which have passed since I've documented and fed back these shortcomings in need of being fixed. Regards, Bill

Dead
Unit was fairly easy to install. The android app worked great. After leaving the unit on while away from the house the day after setting it up , I received push notifications that the hub was offline. When I came home the light on the top of the hub was flashing red. Nothing I did could get the system back online. The next day, the light on the top of the unit was off.

Needs improvements.
The system works relatively well, however i have two issues: one sensor in the kitchen that seems does not communicate all the time, i changed the sensor but the problem persist, the distance is on range, so sems like interference. The main reason for giving low rating is that after a power outage, the hub does not go back online by itself, i have to physically remove the batteries and power supply to make it go online, this is extremely inconvenient, and seems a very weak technology, shame i spend money in many sensors, now looking for something more robust.

nice home security system.
Setup is pretty easy. Could be hard to open the motion sensor to install batteries. The instructions are so so but if you install the iPhone app and add devices from the "more" tab on the home screen its pretty easy. So far I have two window sensors and a motion sensor. All work well. System is responsive and very reliable. No false alarms in almost two months. I am waiting for four more window sensors and a water sensor. This is a basic system but its easy to use and reliable. You can make all changes to the system on the iPhone app. Make sure you write down passwords such as your iPhone password, your hub password, and your keypad password. The hardware is small and attaches easily to doors and windows. All in all a good purchase.

Excellent item. This was easy to install and program
Excellent item. This was easy to install and program. It works great and let's me know via my iphone anytime any of my doors are open. I know exactly when my kids come and go while I'm at work. It's great to be able to set the alarm from my phone too. The best part is there is no monthly fees. I finally feel that my home is secure and I don't have to spend an arm and a leg to do it. I am waiting for the camera's and more sensors to become available as that will make this a complete package. This package will pay for itself in less than 4 months compared to a monthly alarm bill.

Excellent produit!
Excellent produit ! Très efficace ... Merci SkylinkNet !

Great packaging and quality
The wife and I were looking for a well priced alarm system without having to pay a monthly fee. We stumbled upon this product and took a chance (lower rating than what we were hoping for). Product showed up in less than a week. Great packaging and quality. The step by step guide that came with it is absolutely perfect and simple. I hooked up and installed 5 sensors (bought 3 extra). The tape that holds the product to surfaces is 3M brand quality. The app did free on me once or twice in the 30 minutes of use, but overall not a big concern. Would recommendmend to everyone. Pros Easy to setup Inexpensive App works good enough Cons Starter kit a little bare on the amount of sensors included Has to be plugged into router (downstairs in my house) Extra sensors quite pricey I will definitely be checking out the other products once I feel I got full value out of the current system. The extra hardware is a bit pricey considering the price of this introductory kit.

Excelente sistema
